I noticed in my security event log that someone is continually trying to log on to my machine. They continue to fail because of a bad password. Is there a way to isolate this kind of traffic and stop the person at the IP address from continuing to do this?

If it is just one IP all of the time yes you can..but what is giving you this log (program) and can you post part of that log after cleaning it up..that would help ?

Also what is your OS and what is the primary funtion of your system..are you just a home user or other ?

The more info you give the ..then we can help you address the problem. Areyou on cable..pc directly connected or hadware in between ?
