Hi I wonder if you couldhelp me please. I keep receiving emails from contacts I don't know containing the W32/Netsky-D virus. The attachments are not downloaded sop it is not a problem, but receiving the emails are doing my head in!
Can anyone suggest how I get these stopped (other than change my email which I can't do because it is the primary mailbox for my website).

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Hi c4thb,

There isn't much you can do about them. Someone is infected that has your email address on their PC and the virus is sending itself out. Until that infected PC gets cleaned up - they will continue. (Because the virus spoofs the headers on the email it's pretty much impossible to determine who the true infected party is)

Just keep deleting as we all are ;)

c4thb,

Also make sure to have a good antivirus that can do automatic updates and realtime scanning. I have normallly used Norton which is one of the best and well known virus scanners but if you want to try another scanner I would suggest avast virus scanner. I downloaded the free version and this baby is hot. It was so nice that I had to get the full version. What really sold me is the script blocking feature and it auto update. It also has a Virus Recovery Data Base (VRDB). Give it a try with the free one and you will see what I mean.
