ref to previous thread re alg.exe in XP and dw seeing it as untrusted, I had (note "had") the same issue here, ie, dw showed alg.exe as untrusted, and I would kill it, and it seemingly had no impact on my XP SP3 with it disabled. I updated to dw 3.16 and continued to see alg.exe as untrusted. Then today, I played with kingsoft pc doctor 3.1 after reading some reasonable things about it, and it determined that I have 5 MS hotfix vulnerabilities, despite windows update and msba not finding anything missing. the 5 were KB955704, KB953155, KB932716v2, KB951830, & KB 2447568. I was suspicious, so I researched those and downloaded them outside kingsoft, and I manually installed one at a time. all seemed well, and then ran a kingsoft vul scan again and it found that I was now current with no vul. interesting, and the above installations also required a reboot. The only change that I see to this XP is now ("automagically") dw put alg.exe as a trusted app. So either this change was caused in whole or in part by installing these updates, or it is something that dw "fixed" in the recent past but something was blocking alg.exe change to trusted on this XP. Sharing this, as I find it interesting and suspicious at the same time, and Ilya might be able to figure it out with the above info.
