at the bottom of the netsearchsoft home page, you'll find a menu for "contact" .... "privacy" - i believe it was under "privacy" that the company explains who they are (C2 Media, U.K.) and offers a link to an uninstall file - i saved the file and scanned it and got no virus indication - open it and follow the instructions - voila.

you may want to follow up with a HIJACKTHIS scan to make sure all files are uninstalled.

Hunter: this sort of intrusion is definitely unethical, and should be illegal - is there not an agency that this firm (C2 Media) should be reported to, so that they can be warned to cease and desist or else? and if not, perhaps a few million e-mails to their contact at <support@lop.com> a few days a week might convince them that their program is unwelcomed by most, if not all.

It is a tough call to start a email campaign..but will tell you that lop.com has been around for a long time ransacking many a user on the Internet . Some hijack expolits you do see are worse than a trojan on your PC..and understandable from the standpoint that it is a known fact the advertising media on the Internet has hired black hats to help them code these nasties.

At one time the Antispy/AntiMalware Vendor would only go after those who did not have an uninstaller of their junk readily available..or at lest one included in the download were you could go into the normal add/remove programs and ccompletly uninstall it with no ill effects.

But now days it seems to be all muddle together..and users are getting wacked with this stuff and not even getting a chance to say NO  before it ends up on their system..wasting hour of their time in some cases..cleaning it off.

So here we are helping to get members PC's back to the way they want it to run.
