I have come across VoodooShield via Wilders Security which blocks all applications from running apart from those that you allow, apparently stopping many viruses without further action. It is BETA software and under development, and I haven't tested it yet

VoodooShield? uses a new approach to blocking viruses and malware. Please watch this short video to see just how easy it is to use.

Traditional antivirus software attempts to block the 15,000+ new viruses a day. We realized that antivirus companies cannot possibly keep up with all of new viruses, so we chose to take a different approach. VoodooShield? blocks EVERYTHING except the software you train it to allow.

Installing and training VooodooShield? is simple and only takes a few minutes. You will then be able to enjoy a virus-free and malware-free web browsing experience!

I haven't tested this yet - just sharing the news!
