Hi There

I use McAfee and have done a scan with the latest version of adAware. Last week adAware deleted 180 files. Today it found none. My system is still dangerously low on resources and I'm hoping someone will be able to give me advice.

Some one will look at your log soon...Just how much Ram do you have on that PC. it appears that Mcafee is taking up lots of your resources :) ..and there are some items that you do not really need to startup when you turn on your PC. and with start> run..type in msconfig hit ok button then when the system config utility comes up go to the startup tab.

in there are programs you do tell to load at startup.

Do you really use

C:\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT OFFICE\OFFICE\OUTLOOK.EXE

and your ???

C:\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT OFFICE\OFFICE\WINWORD.EXE

You might be able to take them out from preloading at startup.

Have you also gone to your aad/remove programs in the control panel to see if there are things in there you no longer need.?

Have you gone to your system tools and run the tools called disk cleanup and disk defragmentor lately ???

Did you also then empty your adaware quaratine folder..

do you recall what kinds of items adaware found that you deleted..if they were bundled spyware with programs you downloaded..you might better remove the main program first in your add/remove.

Also FYI..

I use ZoneAlarm or ZoneAlarm Pro, is that compatible with iPrimus iSpeed?

Yes. However, If you are using Zone Alarm Pro, please Click here for important details.
http://www.iprimus.c...swer.asp?ID=166

You do need to answer two ZoneAlarm questions properly so that it will allow iPrimus iSpeed to accelerate your Web browsing experience. It is best to exit iPrimus iSpeed and restart it. As soon as iPrimus iSpeed starts the first time under ZoneAlarm, the ZoneAlarm questions will appear.

The first question will asked if it OK for PropelAC.exe to act as a server. You can answer "No" to this question since iPrimus iSpeed only needs to act as a server for connections originating inside your computer. However it is important to check the box which says, "Remember this answer".
Next ZoneAlarm will ask "PropelAC.exe want to acccess this Internet. Is this OK?". This question will not come up until you begin accessing the Internet using iPrimus iSpeed. For this question you should answer "Yes" and also check the box "Remember this answer" in order for iPrimus iSpeed to operate properly.
Note: iPrimus iSpeed will not operate properly if you reboot your computer before answering the ZoneAlarm questions.

Hello st3ve,

Check the following items in HijackThis.
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\PROGRAM FILES\ADOBE\ACROBAT 6.0\READER\ACTIVEX\ACROIEHELPER.DLL (file missing)

Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Reboot in Safe Mode and delete the following: (you may need to show hidden files**)
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\INTERNAT.EXE

**Show hidden files/folders as per the instructions here http://www.tacktech....ay.cfm?ttid=190

Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown.

Reboot. (not necessary, but recommended)

Post another HiJackThis log in this thread for final review.
