I can no longer use IE for browsing. For any page all I get back is the standard "This page cannot be displayed" message that has the usual text and at the bottom says "Cannot find server or DNS error"
Firefox and AOL browsers work OK.
Here is the HJT logfile.
Thanks in advance for the help.

The problem seems specific to IE and not your system. The log is clean.
First:
Check your Internet Connection to be sure it is set properly
IE -> Tools -> COnnection -> LAN
Be sure your dialup connections are correct if you use dialup. Also check the Lan settings and be sure tha nothing is checked.
Second:
Start-->Run-->regsvr32 urlmon.dll
Start-->Run-->regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
Start-->Run-->regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
Start-->Run-->regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
Start-->Run-->regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
Start-->Run-->regsvr32 Browseui.dll
Start-->Run-->regsvr32 Shell32.dll

This might just be a firewall issue.
Sure you didn't accidentally blocked this application ?

First I double checked AOL browser. It does NOT work. My mistake. Get same response as IE. Does it use IE?
LoPhatPhuud -
No connection problem (I think) - uses same connection as Firefox.
Unchecked all LAN settings.
Ran all your suggested Start --> Runs. All succeeded.

If I blocked this application I don't know how I did it. What can I check?

Yes, AOL uses IE as well.
I am not familiar with BlackIce but you need to look where applications are listed and see if IE has been blocked from accessing the internet.

I noticed one more thing as IF is loading.
The first thing I see in the status bar at the bottom of the window is :
"Connecting to site 127.0.0.1"
Following that I see something like:
"Displaying page C:\windows\system32\.....dnserror.htm" or something like that.
Any other ideas?

THat is normal. 127.0.0.1 is your computer and the browser is going there to get the DNS error page for display.
Did you check your firewall??
TO find out if that is the problem, kill the firewall task using Task Manager and then see if you can get online with IE>
