Well i cant specifically give you details on my screen because i dont know myself. But i can discribe the problems i am having. My computer and screen were all working fine nots long ago. But one day my screen started flickering when ever the computer loaded anything. I couldnt figure out the problem, but i got an error saying one of my drivers, nv4_disp.dll was in a loop. I have reinstalled my drivers several times. My computer will start in safe mode and its all fine. But as soon as i boot it up normally my keyboard cuts out and the screen goes blank. I have booted it in VGA mode and everything works fine, but as soon as i change my color and resolution my screen goes blank yet again and the keyboard dosent respond. Any idea what my problem is? Personally i think its hardware but i have no clue. Help me please.

Here is the details the device manager gives about my screen incase these would be helpful:

Device type: Display Adapters
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
PCI bus 1, device 0, function 0

Device status:

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

Driver Provider: Unknown
Driver date: 01/04/2005
Driver Version: 7.1.8.9
Digital signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher

When i click driver details it comes up with this message:

No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device.

I have loaded many drivers for it though and have reinstalled the drivers that came with my computer several times now.

Resource settings:

The device isnt using any resources because it has a problem.

I have tried one of the troubleshooters windows provided:

Uninstall and then reinstall your device.
To resolve the problem that is causing Device Manager to show an error code for your device, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the device.

To uninstall your device

Open Device Manager.
If the category for your device is not expanded, double-click the category.
Under the category for your device, right-click the device that you want to uninstall, and then click Uninstall.
In the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK.
Note

To open Device Manager, click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
Once you have removed your device, use the Add Hardware Wizard to reinstall it.

To reinstall your device

Close any open programs.
Start the Add Hardware Wizard.
Click Next, and wait for Windows to search for Plug and Play devices. Most new devices are Plug and Play, so you rarely need to go beyond this step.
If no Plug and Play devices are found, a list of devices appears. Click Add a new hardware device, and then click Next.
Click Install the hardware that I manually select from a list, and then click Next.
In the Common hardware types list, click the appropriate device category, and then click Next.
In the Manufacturers list, click the manufacturer of your device; in the Models list, click the model name.

Or, click Have Disk if you have an updated or manufacturer-supplied driver to install for your device.
Click Next, and then follow the wizard's instructions to complete the installation.
Note

To open the Add Hardware Wizard, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Printers and Other Hardware. Under See Also, click Add Hardware.
Does uninstalling and reinstalling your device solve the problem?

This did not work. I hope this information is helpful.

Hi nebon
Well the latest drivers for your card are NVIDIA Forceware (2K-XP) 81.95

Windows XP/2000 32-bit

ForceWare Logo (200 x 30)

ForceWare Release 80
Version: 81.95
Release Date: November 22, 2005
http://www.nvidia.co...p_2k_81.95.html
With NVIDIA drivers you will have to make sure that they are uninstalled completely before loading new ones. This software will help you with there complete removal. When you have run this tool then download the latest drivers on the link above to see if you have fixed it and then let us know please

Just one question how do I use the driver cleaner tool and does it clean off all my drivers?

Here's a fairly thorough article for you:
http://www.viaarena....ArticleID=9&P=1

At the top and bottom are navigation drop-down boxes to get you to each section of the article ("Identifying the error, Causes and Resolutions, Advanced resolutions, and End Notes")

If you still are having trouble you may want to try posting here:
http://s13.invisionf...php?showforum=2
Someone has created a forum specifically for your problem.

I have nearly finished checking the first article it was very helpful and contains many tips and explains the problem. It mentioned to disable NVADIA Display driver service. I already have had it disabled do you think this could have caused a problem?

I just tried to start the service but it stopped itself. The description of the service is: Provides system and desktop level support to NAVIDIA.

What does this part of the post mean:

QUOTE
Display Properties on GeForce cards:
Enter display properties by right clicking on your desktop and selecting properties or going through the Display Properties icon in Control Panel. Under the Settings tab, click Advanced. Select the GeForce 2/3 tab. Select Additional Properties. There will be a tab labeled Direct 3D Settings. You will see PCI PCI is an interconnection system between a microprocessor and attached devices in which expansion slots are spaced closely for high-speed operation. PCI is designed to be independent of microprocessor design, but synchronized with the clock speed of the microprocessor. It uses all active paths to transmit both address and data signals, sending the address on one clock cycle and data on the next. Burst data can be sent starting with an address on the first cycle and a sequence of data transmissions on a certain number of successive cycles. Texture Memory Size. Lower this setting. I believe the default it about 63 but this may vary depending on your video card and motherboard. I recommend no higher than 32. The lower you go, the safer the setting is. I have found very minimal to no performance decrease by adjusting this setting. This is a fix reported by end users in the VIA Arena forums.

And also now i have 2 possible causes of the problems. Either my power source is broken or the graphics card.
