Oke i have switched to another LCD monitor and found the same problem. But i have also noticed one thing. Windows did not automatically detect new hardware. Its using the old nvadia drivers to run on this LCD. The computer seems also to thing this is my other screen. I cannot find the disk containing the drivers for this monitor, but the computer still registers this as the old screen even after i scan for hardware changes. Do you think its my CPU giving me problems or my graphics card because i know its definetly not my screen and i opened up my PC and i dont think its the power supply now.

If you hook up a new monitor..first step is to NOT hook it up..but rather first load the drivers and controls from the CD that came with the monitor..when they are loaded and installed..then hook up the montor and choose those drivers or let your Plug and Play built into the Microsoft OS find them for you. Not a good idea to use old drivers..or assumes they are preloaded in your OS unless you find them listed there by model number of that Monitor.

Also take into account your system and it's OS might also be able to work with TWO monitors at the same time..and in that case..you must chose which one(s) will do just that in your hardware compatibility.

Problem solved. I just got a new graphics card wiped off every single setting for the old one. Reinstalled it and now it works.

I'm wondering if you can help me out. I am having the same problem but can't seem to figure out how to fix this. I've booted up in "safe mode with networking", which is how I'm able to post right now. I ran the Belarc program and this is what it gave me.

My boot log is fairly similar to Nebon's - drivers stop loading right after mup.sys (so the first one after that is the ACPI Multiprocessor PC).

My laptop was working fine for some time... I had just installed a game that I was playing, Age of Empires II. That was working fine. I went to bed. Next morning I woke up and found everything working really slowly. I closed all applications and rebooted... and then it hung at the Windows XP loading screen. I booted into Safe Mode, uninstalled Age, even tried a System Restore to about a week ago. But still nothing.

So please... HELP!! It's exam time and I really need the use of my laptop.
