Good morning,
While our cable was down, I used our dialup to access the internet. All of a sudden, about 120 messages from Norton AV showed e-mails trying to be sent. I shut down, then after cable was back up, it stopped. Also, our son recently installed (without pernission) mIRC in order to upload some small animations to a friend, and since then we have had lots of weird pop ups on occasion. Could we have a hijacker, or worse? Thank you Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 10:25:32 AM, on 12/17/2005 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\ISS\BlackICE\blackd.exe C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\navapsvc.exe C:\Program Files\Canon\Memory Card Utility\PIXMA iP6000D\PDUiP6000DMemCrdMgr.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\snmp.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\Tablet.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\fxssvc.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Security Center\SymWSC.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\PROGRA~1\NORTON~1\navapw32.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_05\bin\jusched.exe C:\Program Files\Canon\Memory Card Utility\PIXMA iP6000D\PDUiP6000DMon.exe C:\Program Files\Canon\Memory Card Utility\PIXMA iP6000D\PDUiP6000DTskbr.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware\gcasServ.exe C:\Program Files\ahead\InCD\InCD.exe C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe C:\Program Files\Iomega\DriveIcons\ImgIcon.exe C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Share-to-Web\hpgs2wnd.exe C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\hgepaaaa.exe C:\PROGRA~1\HEWLET~1\HPSHAR~1\hpgs2wnf.exe C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\WINDOWS\NCLAUNCH.EXe C:\WINDOWS\system32\srshost.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware\gcasDtServ.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\ISS\BlackICE\blackice.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\efax\HotTray.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\efax\Dllcmd32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Wtablet\TabUserW.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Mom Unit\MomUnit Docs\Downloads\Security\HijackThis\v1.99.1\HijackThis_v992.exe R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Window Title = Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by AT&T WorldNet Service O2 - BHO: Yahoo! Reboot in Safe Mode* and run HiJackThis. <-- IMPORTANT
Check the following items in HijackThis. (note: If any R* items do not appear in Safe Mode, re-run HiJackThis in Normal Mode and remove them after you finish removing these items.) O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [zzzHPSETUP] D:\Setup.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Windows System] hgepaaaa.exe O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microsoft Windows System] hgepaaaa.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [NCLaunch] C:\WINDOWS\NCLAUNCH.EXe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [srshost.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\srshost.exe O21 - SSODL: SysTray.Exgr - {5368D1FC-4F5C-4f1b-B134-E67214FC78E9} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ahmajloi.dll (file missing) Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked. While still in Safe Mode*, delete the following: (you may need to show hidden files**) (Files specified without a full path will be located in C:\Windows\ or C:\Windows\System32\) D:\Setup.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\hgepaaaa.exe C:\WINDOWS\NCLAUNCH.EXe C:\WINDOWS\system32\srshost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ahmajloi.dll *How to Boot into Safe mode: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...001052409420406 **Show Hidden and System files and folders: http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown. Reboot in normal mode Run HiJackThis again and post a new log in this thread. -------------------- Happiness ain't a thing in itself--it's only a contrast with something that ain't pleasant. That looks good. Let's cehck to be sure nothing is hiding..
Please download SilentRunners from here: http://www.silentrunners.org/Silent%20Runners.zip Unzip it to the desktop and double-click on it. If you get any kind of warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run. When the scan is finished, a message will pop up and a logfile will have been created on the desktop. Please post the entire contents of this logfile for me to see. -------------------- Happiness ain't a thing in itself--it's only a contrast with something that ain't pleasant. Mark Twain |
