Please disregard this post. I've had to reformat the hard drive and this problem is no longer applicable. Thanks! Hello All, A few days ago I began experiencing strange problems with my Paint Shop Pro 7 which I've used, nearly trouble-free, for 3½ years on this same PC. Now, every time I click on the icon to start PSP7 I receive the following message: You do not have access to make the required system configuration modifications. Please rerun this installtion from an administrators account. When I close that window PSP7 starts up. The toolbar has reverted back to default settings; I can't control the shape of the any of the tools (paintbrush, eraser); can't view the cache of tubes so I can choose a tube to use; can't set the paintbrush or eraser with their outlines visible...basically, I can't do a thing with the program anymore. I've customized the toolbar and other settings over and over again but they always revert back to the default settings. I've uninstalled and re-installed PSP7 four times with the same results and have tried to repair the program through the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs. My Google Toolbar was also affected. Couln't keep my customized settings. I have since uninstalled that. I believe System Restore has somehow been affected too because there are no restore points available even though that feature is enabled. I had made no changes to the settings on my PC before these problems started. I've run scan disk and defragged the hard drive. Scans with AdAware, Spybot Search & Destroy and AVG Anti-Virus found nothing. I have since uninstalled Spybot S&D because I started having problems with that. When I tried to install the newer version of Spybot S & D, I received the following error: Error creating registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\PepiMK Software\SpybotSnD\ RegCreateKeyEx failed; code 1009. The configuration registry database is corrupt. Click Retry to try again, Ignore to proceed anyway, or Abort to cancell installation. I hope this isn't too much info but I wanted to try to be thorough and would appreciate your help.
