Edit:
Folks over at I Am Not A Geek confirmed I should remove/fix the items in question. Thanks - wb ==== Hi, I had a bit of a CWS infection after my bro-in-law visited and used my computer (hmmm...). I've done some cleaning (CWShredder, SpyBot S&D, AdAware,) and added some additional protection (SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard, IE-Spyad) to already resident Sygate, BOClean and Nod32 behind a NAT router. A few items below still give me some concern. Particularly: R1 F3 (both) 015 (all) Many thanks for some thoughts/course of action. Check the following items in HijackThis.
(note: If any R* items do not appear in Safe Mode, re-run HiJackThis in Normal Mode and remove them after you finish removing these items.) R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = local., F3 - REG:win.ini: load= F3 - REG:win.ini: run= O15 - ProtocolDefaults: '@ivt' protocol is in My Computer Zone, should be Intranet Zone (HKLM) O15 - ProtocolDefaults: 'file' protocol is in My Computer Zone, should be Internet Zone (HKLM) O15 - ProtocolDefaults: 'ftp' protocol is in My Computer Zone, should be Internet Zone (HKLM) O15 - ProtocolDefaults: 'http' protocol is in My Computer Zone, should be Internet Zone (HKLM) O15 - ProtocolDefaults: 'https' protocol is in My Computer Zone, should be Internet Zone (HKLM) Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked. Reboot in normal mode Run HiJackThis again and post a new log in this thread. -------------------- Happiness ain't a thing in itself--it's only a contrast with something that ain't pleasant.
