My AVG scanned this morning and told me that I was infected by something related to sunjava. I can't delete the program, and AVG didn't do anything either. Here's my HijackThis log. Thanks for any help.

Let's see what we can do.
Download and scan with CCleaner
1. Before first use, select Options > Advanced and UNCHECK "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"
2. Then select the items you wish to clean up.
In the Windows Tab:
? Clean all entries in the "Internet Explorer" section except Cookies.
? Clean all the entries in the "Windows Explorer" section.
? Clean all entries in the "System" section.
? Clean all entries in the "Advanced" section.
? Clean any others that you choose.
In the Applications Tab:
? Clean all except cookies in the Firefox/Mozilla section if you use it.
? Clean all in the Opera section if you use it.
? Clean Sun Java in the Internet Section.
? Clean any others that you choose.
3. Click the "Run Cleaner" button.
4. A pop up box will appear advising this process will permanently delete files from your system.
5. Click "OK" and it will scan and clean your system.
6. Click "exit" when done.
Post a new HJT log and tell me if you are still getting anything from your AVG scan. If so, tell me what it is saying.

Thanks for your help. Here's my HijackThis log. AVG seems fine now after I ran CCleaner. I have another problem now, I think. I tried to download a key generator for a game, and my computer immediately shut down. I've been trying to download a p2p sharing program to get some music, but everytime I download it and start it, my computer shuts down again without warning. I tried system restore, but that didn't seem to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What P2P program are you refering to? Also, are you planning on downloading copyrighted music?
Also, about the key generator - what are you trying to do with this? Where did you get the game?

I was trying to download Limewire or Morpheus. I normally don't download music, but some of the bands I like have some rare songs that I would really like to find. And as for the key generator, I was planning on using it for a copy of Half Life 2 I bought. I bought it used off ebay, not realizing that the CD-Key for the game was already registered, rendering the game useless to me. It wasn't the seller's fault totally, because he did advertise that the game was used, but didn't say that he was basically selling an expensive paperweight.

I would love to help you but can not. We do not enter into the realm of helping people commit illegal activities.
Yes, I understand about the game. Sometimes when buying on ebay you have to be careful.
I have never used a keygen and could not offer you help on it even if I could.
Also, even though the songs may be rare, I can not offer help with that either. Same issue, copywrite infringment. You may want to check some music stores. Some will do special orders to get music for you.
I am going to give you some warnings on P2P's. There is alot of stuff going around that can really damage your computer and render in inoperable. We deal with this everyday. It is of course your choice but I would shy away from it if I were you.
To be honest, if your computer is shutting down when you try these programs, I honestly do not know why. If it is not happening any other time I do not know what I can do to help. Maybe your computer is giving you a sign. :boh:
If there is anything else I can do for you, let me know. I currently do not see any more signs in your log to tell me there is a problem.
