Hello,
I keep on getting a popup while using various programs such as word, IE, firefox, or anything else telling me there is spyware on my computer and to click a link to figure out how to deal with it. I looked at the hijackthis log and I can't figure out what needs changing so here is the log and I hope someone can advise me: Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 12:43:00 AM, on 1/30/2006 Platform: Windows 2000 SP4 (WinNT 5.00.2195) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106) Running processes: C:\WINNT\System32\smss.exe C:\WINNT\system32\csrss.exe C:\WINNT\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINNT\system32\services.exe C:\WINNT\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINNT\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINNT\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINNT\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINNT\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\WINNT\system32\regsvc.exe C:\WINNT\system32\MSTask.exe C:\WINNT\System32\WBEM\WinMgmt.exe C:\WINNT\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINNT\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\WCESCOMM.EXE C:\Program Files\eMule\emule.exe C:\Program Files\ABC\abc.exe C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\AboutBuster\hijackthis\HijackThis.exe O2 - BHO: AcroIEHlprObj Class - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.ocx O2 - BHO: SSVHelper Class - {761497BB-D6F0-462C-B6EB-D4DAF1D92D43} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\ssv.dll O3 - Toolbar: &Radio - {8E718888-423F-11D2-876E-00A0C9082467} - C:\WINNT\system32\msdxm.ocx O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Synchronization Manager] mobsync.exe /logon O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvCplDaemon] RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINNT\system32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [nwiz] nwiz.exe /install O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NeroFilterCheck] C:\WINNT\system32\NeroCheck.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SW20] C:\WINNT\system32\sw20.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvMediaCenter] RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINNT\system32\NvMcTray.dll,NvTaskbarInit O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SpybotSD TeaTimer] C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\TeaTimer.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [H/PC Connection Agent] "C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\WCESCOMM.EXE" O9 - Extra button: Create Mobile Favorite - {2EAF5BB1-070F-11D3-9307-00C04FAE2D4F} - C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\inetrepl.dll O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {2EAF5BB2-070F-11D3-9307-00C04FAE2D4F} - C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\inetrepl.dll O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Create Mobile Favorite... - {2EAF5BB2-070F-11D3-9307-00C04FAE2D4F} - C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\inetrepl.dll O9 - Extra button: ICQ Pro - {6224f700-cba3-4071-b251-47cb894244cd} - C:\PROGRA~1\ICQ\ICQ.exe O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: ICQ - {6224f700-cba3-4071-b251-47cb894244cd} - C:\PROGRA~1\ICQ\ICQ.exe O12 - Plugin for .spop: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Plugins\NPDocBox.dll O16 - DPF: {00B71CFB-6864-4346-A978-C0A14556272C} - O16 - DPF: {04E214E5-63AF-4236-83C6-A7ADCBF9BD02} (HouseCall Control) - http://housecall-beta.trendmicro.com/housecall/xscan60.cab O16 - DPF: {14B87622-7E19-4EA8-93B3-97215F77A6BC} (MessengerStatsClient Class) - http://messenger.zone.msn.com/binary/Messe...nt.cab31267.cab O16 - DPF: {74D05D43-3236-11D4-BDCD-00C04F9A3B61} (HouseCall Control) - http://a840.g.akamai.net/7/840/537/2004061...all/xscan53.cab O16 - DPF: {8E0D4DE5-3180-4024-A327-4DFAD1796A8D} (MessengerStatsClient Class) - http://messenger.zone.msn.com/binary/Messe...nt.cab31267.cab O16 - DPF: {B38870E4-7ECB-40DA-8C6A-595F0A5519FF} (MsnMessengerSetupDownloadControl Class) - http://messenger.msn.com/download/MsnMesse...pDownloader.cab O16 - DPF: {B8BE5E93-A60C-4D26-A2DC-220313175592} (ZoneIntro Class) - http://messenger.zone.msn.com/binary/ZIntro.cab32846.cab O16 - DPF: {CAFEEFAC-0015-0000-0001-ABCDEFFEDCBA} (Java Plug-in) - O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{9A01AC9F-5096-453A-9A67-13DF28D68E17}: NameServer = 85.255.115.3,85.255.112.10 O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{E8705943-CF2F-437B-8115-9CBE99A4B94C}: NameServer = 85.255.115.3,85.255.112.10 O23 - Service: Logical Disk Manager Administrative Service (dmadmin) - VERITAS Software Corp. - C:\WINNT\System32\dmadmin.exe O23 - Service: InstallDriver Table Manager (IDriverT) - Macrovision Corporation - C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Driver\11\Intel 32\IDriverT.exe O23 - Service: NVIDIA Display Driver Service (NVSvc) - NVIDIA Corporation - C:\WINNT\system32\nvsvc32.exe Thanks, Miro |

Hi bllott,
Please download FixWareout from one of these sites: http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/Fixwareout.exe Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal. When your system reboots, follow the prompts. Afterwards, HijackThis will launch. Finally, please post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt, along with a new HijackThis log into this topic. Now lets check some settings on your system. Enter your Control Panel and double-click on Network Connections Then right click on your Default Connection Usually Local Area Connection for Cable and DSL Left click on Properties Double-Click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item Select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS Servers Automatically Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks Next Go start run type cmd and hit OK type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter, type exit hit enter (that space between g and / is needed) Go to Online malware scan and submit C:\WINNT\system32\sw20.exe. Tell me the result. -------------------- |

Hi bllott,
Run HijackThis, click on "Scan" and check the boxes next to all these items. O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SW20] C:\WINNT\system32\sw20.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dmygh.exe] C:\WINNT\system32\dmygh.exe O16 - DPF: {00B71CFB-6864-4346-A978-C0A14556272C} - O16 - DPF: {CAFEEFAC-0015-0000-0001-ABCDEFFEDCBA} (Java Plug-in) - Then close all windows, and browsers, except HijackThis. Tell HijackThis to "Fix checked". Restart your computer in Safe Mode. How do I Safe Boot my computer? Show hidden files. How do I show hidden files? At the end if the fix you can return the files to hidden status if you want. Delete the following files in red (it could be that they are deleted already): C:\WINNT\system32\dmygh.exe Restart your computer and post a new log in this thread. QUOTE File: sw20.exe Strange... I had an idea that I had seen this before. Go to http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/submit-malware.php and submit the following file(s): C:\WINNT\system32\sw20.exe

Hi bllott,
Restart your computer in Safe Mode. How do I Safe Boot my computer? Run HijackThis, click on "Scan" and check the boxes next to all these items. O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dmbcg.exe] C:\WINNT\system32\dmbcg.exe O16 - DPF: {00B71CFB-6864-4346-A978-C0A14556272C} - O16 - DPF: {CAFEEFAC-0015-0000-0001-ABCDEFFEDCBA} - Then close all windows, and browsers, except HijackThis. Tell HijackThis to "Fix checked". Restart your computer and post a new log in this thread. The file I asked to get rid of has returned under a different name... Go to Online malware scan and submit C:\WINNT\system32\dmbcg.exe. Tell me the result. QUOTE I submitted the file as you said. I saw that. I'll get to it when I get home.
