Slight problem. I have basically just destroyed my computer, which was intentional. Hoped to try and wipe it. Funny enough I cannot boot from CD or DVD. It wont boot from either the CD's for a re-install of windows or any bootable CD's which I know work (tested on other computers). Now wont boot from OS as its damaged. What shall I do? Put the HDD onto another comp format and reinstall?
Wont read bootable CD's

Now why would you want to do that? Try booting into the bios and check your setting and make sure you have cd booting up first.

Brands of computers and keyboard commands to boot into bios.

Once you have done that, then save and exit. The changes will be made and then install the cd and reboot your system and choose repair XP or format.

If changing the bios settings doesn't work try this boot floppy disk that will allow you select the CD/DVD drive and boot from it.

Thanks very much guys.
Tried changing boot order with no luck.
Unforteunatley no floppy so it rules that one out. Formated it on another computer which I am currently borrowing. I installed an OS on it :).
One big problem though. It says that my hard drives are not installed. All cables in etc. Is there an application that I need to use to install them or to make my computer recognise them. I have seen one before I think. Also is there a way I can get the computer to boot into Dos using a CD or DVD? I also think it might boot from a DVD, funny enough.
Have a great day

I also think my computer might boot from USB. Any programs that I can put onto a USB to get me into a dos Prompt?

Try the second method.
One other thing too, I highly suggest you use a backup software.
Try this one and see if its still available
