Hello,

Yes, thank you for the advice. But I do not face such problems previously when I use my other two PCs to surf those websites. Is it possible if I say that it is because of the java is out of date for this old laptop? It is too weird that I got infected twice in a day surfing the same websites as previously. I have Kaspersky AV, Spyware Doctor, Ad-Aware, & Spybot installed in the other two PCs. For this, I only have AVG, Ad-Aware, & Spybot installed. Can this be another reason? Anyway, I will try out Firefox & Kerio later in today. :)

Upgrade your AVG to its newest build, AVG 7.5

Can I see an uninstall list for this laptop, please?

Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

Well, I was looking for Java versions, since you mentioned it, but I don't see any at all anywhere for this laptop. At any rate, when you get the firewall and Firefox going it should be enough.

This should also help : http://mvps.org/winh...02/unwanted.htm

Take care!

Hello teacup61,

I very much appreciate your help for me so far. Actually I read from other threads saying that outdated Java versions might cause infection, that is why I mentioned it. But I am not sure about the full function of Java for PC. So that means it is not necessary for this laptop to be installed with Java if I have Firefox & Kerio installed?

Thank you so much. flowerz.gif

At some point you will want/need Java. There are even some AV online scans that require Java. I'm wondering why there is none present here at all. If you ever get it, make sure you uninstall the old version at the time of every new update. To read more about Java, go to their site and see what all they do. :) http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp

Ok, I think that's about all. It is time for this topic to be regarded as closed. If I ever get reinfected again, I will open a new topic. Thank you. ciao.gif
