ABC Backup

ABC backup allows you to copy, upload, download data automatically on schedule from your PC to various storages – network disks, remote FTP servers, etc. The program can either mirror your data "as is" or create archived files or directories for copying. The user can customize the method of naming backup files adding, for example, the date of archiving to file names. ABC Backup uses the zip algorithm to archive data. It is fully gzip compatible (which is important for GNU utilities users and in cross-platform environments.) A built-in task scheduler helps you to build a queue of automated backups, uploads, downloads, or run third-party utilities to process the data before or after copying/archiving. ABC Backup has no limitations on the number of scheduled tasks.

Dubaron DiskImage

DiskImage is the ultimate tool to backup and restore partitions, entire harddisks, usb keys, floppy drives and (read-only) optical media.
DiskImage features built-in zip compression, it's own compression method for data > 2Gb, MD5 and SHA1 checksumming, a hex editor, and various tools like drive speed and seek testing.
Dumping and restoring partitions, usb sticks, floppies, optical media, diskimage is the swiss army knife.

Cobian Backup is a free, open source, multi-threaded program that can be used to schedule and backup your files and directories from their original location to other directories/drives in the same computer or other computer in your network. FTP backup is also supported in both directions (download and upload).

Cobian Backup exists in two different versions: application and service. The program uses very few resources and can be running on the background on your system, checking your backup schedule and executing your backups when necessary. Cobian Backup is not an usual backup application: it only copies your files and folders in original or compressed mode to other destination, creating a security copy as a result. So Cobian Backup can be better described as a "Scheduler for security copies".

Cobian Backup supports several methods of compression and strong encryption. Cobian Backup exists in 2 versions: An Unicode version that works on NT based systems only and an ANSI version which works in all versions of Windows. Please note that no new features will be added to version 7.

Replicator
Automatically backup files, directories, even entire drives! Karen's Replicator copies selected files from one drive/folder to another. Source and Destination folders can reside anywhere on your network.

Options include repeated copies at intervals as short as a few minutes, or as long as several months, copy only files that have changed, and the replication of file deletions.

New features allow you to specify which files should not be copied, and also which days a file should be skipped!

CopyWipe? is a utility for copying or securely overwriting (wiping/erasing) entire hard drives. CopyWipe can ease and expedite the transition to a new hard drive by copying the entire contents of one drive to another. CopyWipe can also help prevent confidential or private data from being recovered, by securely wiping the contents of a drive. A number of options are provided for wiping, most of which exceed governmental standards (such as DoD 5220.22-M, NAVSO P-5239-26, etc.); this allows the user to choose an optimal balance between security and duration of the wiping operation.

The changes report can be produced in text or HTML format and contains a list of all modifications that have taken place between snapshot1 and snapshot2. Clonezilla Live - Single machine clone system without installation
Clonnezilla Live, allows you to use CD/DVD or USB flash drive to boot and run clonezilla.
(Clonezilla, based on DRBL, Partition Image, ntfsclone, and udpcast, allows you to massively clone many (40 plus!) computers simultaneously.)

Clonezilla saves and restores only used blocks in the harddisk. This increases the clone effiency. Filesystem supported: ext2, ext3, reiserfs, xfs, jfs of GNU/Linux, and FAT, NTFS of MS Windows. Therefore you can clone GNU/Linux or MS windows.

PING (Partimage Is Not Ghost) -- Backup and Restore Disk Partitions
PING is a live Linux ISO, based on the excellent Linux From Scratch (LFS) documentation. It can be burnt on a CD and booted, or integrated into a PXE / RIS environment.

Several tools have been added and written, so to make this ISO the perfect choice to backup and restore whole partitions, an easy way. It sounds like Symantec Ghost™, but has even better features, and is totally free.
