  • Can you give us the model of your router?
  • Have you correctly configured your router to recieve wireless connections?
  • Was there a program that came with your laptop to help you configure your wireless connection?
  • Put your speaker lead into the green coloured (or the one with a )))) symbol above it) port on the back of your computer, the ports on the back should also be colour coded with either the end of the leads or the leads themselves. I assume you are talking about the builtin speakers on your computer.

My model router is a gigabyte yes it's configured to recieve wireless connections. With the built in speakers on my laptop shouldn't they work as soon as I put a cd in with music on it. cause they aren't working. No I dont have a program unless it's on the laptop to configure a wireless connection. cheers

Heya fox01

well the other technical problems you told us should get sorted out first. Without knowing so more details about your "notie" (f.e. operating system, patchlevel of it) I can recommend that to uninstall the sound device driver first and try a reinstall after a reboot. If sound works, I would uninstall the driver for the wireless adapter.

Therefore I've checked over at Dell's website for some support links for your notebook:

Dell Latitude D520

How to set up a WLAN connection

I would start with fixing the sound problem:

A collection of all known problems of a Dell Lattitude D520 can be found there:

Dell Latittude D520 support forum

DellLattitude D520 Sound problems

Then have a look to fix the wireless problem

Wireless problems -1-

Wireless problems -2-

Something you should check for also: is there any warranty left?

If you have other questions on this, feel free to ask us here, kay?

Have a great day
B. Udo
