I just installed MS Office 2010 Beta under WinXP and Win7, but no luck- "Virtualization Handler" folder even not exists! Ed, please, check all the registry for the "Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Virtualization Handler" string (without quotas), expost all of them into the .reg files, zip and send me. Lets try remote analysis.

After seeing your message above I asked more about what version of Office 2010 she installed. She is using the Office Home and Business version which is delivered via "click-to-run". I have never seen this before but I am sure it is what is causing the problem with DW. Here is a little about click-to-run:
How does Click-to-Run work?
Products delivered via Click-to-Run execute in a virtual application environment on the local Operating System. This means that they have private copies of their files and settings, and that any changes they make are captured in the virtual environment. The effect is they don?t end up modifying any other software installed on the System. With few exceptions, only user data actually passes through the virtual environment to the local System. Click-to-Run users may notice that they have a virtual Q: drive on their PCs, this is the virtual file system used by Office.
I can easily tell her to use Office 2007 or Office 2010 Professional which downloads and installs normally but I suspect you will hear about this from others sooner than later. If you still want the registry keys, I will try to get over to her house tomorrow. Let me know how you want to handle. Thanks.

Just installed the latest Beta (14th Jan) and I have several problems. My PC was working well with the previous Beta.
Problems:
1. Mailwasher is not working. Various processes/actions being blocked.Lots of warning boxes about failure to load the 'blacklist' etc.
2. Lots of popups about Explorer trying to access my 'secured' files
3. I am running a Beta version of Win7 and since installing the latest DW3 I get a box at bootup saying Win7 is not genuine. This maybe a coinsidence but it only started to appear after I installed the latest DW3 Beta.

Must be a Windows 7 conflict, Mailwasher running fine on XP, and no pop-ups running IE8.

OK, send me the content of your HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\Shares registry key exported.

OK, if you can get the registry keys exported- I'll wait for it. Other case, I'll install Office 2010 via "click-and-run".

One more thing here is about network-shared printers, connected to the local computers. As far as I understand, they require 445 and 139 ports to be open. Two potential ways out:
1. Advice you use "manual" inbound mode.
2. Make an automatical workaround, but with a potential programming errors as I can't test this code in a real environment.
Any thoughts?

When the option "Automatically run applications from removable sources as untrusted" is enabled, DW completely ignores any attempts to change a program's status on removable drives. IE "Run as Trusted" still runs the program as untrusted, while "Change status to trusted" still shows the file listed as "Untrusted" in file properties. Is this as intended? I run some of my programs from removable hard drives, and it took me a bit to figure out until I remembered the option was there. This is version 1/16/2010.
Thanks,

it would be nice if for every process that starts as untrusted can appear a reminder indicating the name of the untrusted process for a defined laps of time (5 seconds,...).
Similarly, I'd like the same information was provided "on the fly" by moving the cursor over DW's tray icon.
What do you think about it?

Ilya, I downloaded the click-and-run version of office 2010 and installed it on a fresh snapshot on my laptop. I was going to use NirSoft RegScanner to find all the registry keys and export them but it has found over 5,000 keys with Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Virtualization Handler and is still running!!! Is there some other utility I should be using? I did also run jv16 Power Tools and saved the list to a text file (attached).
