I recently had to have someone totally clean out my comp cause it was messed up, i got it back, installed my stuff, but now whenever i get on the internet, i get pop ups all the time, and for a gamer its pretty rough, a 56ker AT THAT. then a freind told me to come here and do what you guys say, so i got to the newbs, DL'd the spybot, scanned and fixed all that stuff, then got the hijack, scanned and saved the log, and this it what it said:

First:
I recommend that you uninstall Weatherbug, unless you are using the paid version. The free version ii adware but does not contain any spyware. Tropic Designs WeathPulse is freeware with no ads, no spyware and is available here: http://www.tropicdesigns.net/weatherpulse.html

Second:
Internet Optimizer is a browser hijacker and a source of pop-ups. Please check your Add/Remove Programs and uninstall it if present.

Third:
Before we do anything, please move HiJackThis to a permanent folder. I suggest 'c:\program files\hijackthis\' but any folder other than the Desktop or a temporary folder is fine. This will allow us to use backups to restore entries if necessary

Check the following items in HijackThis.

Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Reboot in Safe Mode* and delete the following: (you may need to show hidden files**)
C:\Program Files\Internet Optimizer\ <-- folder (may not be present)
C:\WINDOWS\gvil.exe
C:\WINDOWS\Wast

*How to Boot into Safe mode: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...001052409420406
**Show hidden files/folders as per the instructions here http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=190

Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown.

Reboot.

Post another HiJackThis log in this thread for review.
