Before we begin, please be sure that HiJackThis is in its own folder. This will allow us to use backups to restore entries if necessary. Please do not put HiJackThis in a temporary folder, or on the Desktop. I suggest using 'c:\program files\hijackthis\' or C:\HiJackThis\, but any name you choose is fine.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.searchwww.com/bar.htm

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5FA6752A-C4A0-4222-88C2-928AE5AB4966} - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SWIN32.DLL

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Adstartup] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\automove.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [DR_S] C:\Program Files\DR_S\DR_S.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SYSsfitb] C:\WINDOWS\SYSsfitb.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ClockSync] C:\Program Files\ClockSync\Sync.exe

O16 - DPF: {086A694F-91FB-4068-B44C-124FB69BF05D} - http://www.searchwww.com/search.cab

Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked.

Reboot in Safe Mode*, delete the following: (you may need to show hidden files**)
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\automove.exe
C:\Program Files\DR_S\ <-- delete folder
C:\WINDOWS\SYSsfitb.exe
C:\Program Files\ClockSync\ <-- delete folder

*How to Boot into Safe mode: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...001052409420406
**Show Hidden and System files and folders
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown.

Reboot in normal mode.

Run HiJackThis again and post a new log in this thread.

Your log is clean.

The two trojans are in your system restore area. You will need to reset it to remove them. Here are instructions:

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

(Windows ME)
To disable System Restore:
1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. On the Performance tab, click File System, or press ALT+F.
3. On the Troubleshooting tab, click to select the Disable System Restore check box.

Thanks. one question though. Will the system restore cause the pc to lose any recent files or programs? I have a lot of CDs i recently ripped to the pc to put onto a jukebox next week and wouldnt like to lose them
LoPhatPhuud
No system restore will not remove anything You are not restoring. You are deleting the restore file and creating a new one. Everything on your hard drive, except the Restore file will remain unchanged.
