Full Version: I think my PC has spy or virus infected
Gladiator Security Forum > Malware Help Forum > HELP! Think you are Infected?
dstme
I have post one tread just now but could not manage to see where it was posted so here I am again. If you see me another post, sorry sorry OMG.gif

I notice my PC is giving out some "noise" at some time and usually last few minutes. While it makes noises, the screen freezes for that few minutes before it is back to normal. I can't change from one window to another. It is like PC resource is being used and you can't do anything else. Also, it does not occur everday.

help.gifI'm afraid that it is infected with these spyware/tracking bug or virus that send out virus email through my PC.

Kindly check for me. Please, please and thanks, thanks worthy.gif worthy.gif

Hi dstme,

Go to Online malware scan and submit C:\WINDOWS\system32\SSCFBTN.EXE.

Tell me the result.

You can download CCleaner. This is a program to rid hard discs of unnecessary files. After execution you should defragment your hard disc(s).
dstme
Hi many thanks for your quick reply.
I had submited the file to malware scan and found nothing. :dancer:
Below is the result:
AntiVir Found nothing
Avast Found nothing
AVG Antivirus Found nothing
BitDefender Found nothing
ClamAV Found nothing
Dr.Web Found nothing
F-Prot Antivirus Found nothing
Fortinet Found nothing
Kaspersky Anti-Virus Found nothing
mks_vir Found nothing
NOD32 Found nothing
Norman Virus Control Found nothing
VBA32 Found nothing

Should I worry for others files? Please advice. I will do the CCleaner now. Anything on the Hijack? Thanks.

Hi dstme,

That was the only strange thing I found. Your log is clean for the rest. It might be that you have to clean up your disc (which CCleaner will do), defragment it and it could be that you have to get more internal memory. How much memory do you have now? Microsoft recommends at least 512 MB RAM...
dstme
Hi THanks for your advice. I'm using 512Mb RAM so, it should be ok. I did Ccleaner and it did clean up everything, - clean :thumb:

After that I have not encounter any screen feeze or noise. but I will try to monitor if it happen again. You might be right. ccleaner might do the job. If it happen I try to report to you. Hope you can help me again then.

Anyway, thanks! beer.gif

Hi dstme,

your log is still clean... Have you run CCleaner again?
dstme
Hi Bobbi,

Yes, I did run Ccleaner and defag after hearing the noise but it is still the same. OMG.gif
Any idea? Thanks

Not at the moment...

Does this only happen when you use a specific program? What are the system specifications of your computer? Maybe I can find something on it if I know what the videocard is. It might be that others experience it too.

I'm almost certain that this is dodgy
C:\WINDOWS\system32\SSCFBTN.EXE

please upload it to my site so I can check it out

please go to http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=1.0 and upload these files so I can examine them and distribute them to antivirus companies.
Just press new topic, fill in the needed details and just give a link to your post here & then press the browse button and then navigate to & select the files on your computer, If there is more than 1 file then press the more attachments button for each extra file and browse and select etc and then when all the files are listed in the windows press send to upload the files

Files to submit:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\SSCFBTN.EXE

Ill let you know as soon as I get hold of it

When I click on my security centre, it prompts An exception occur at C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll, control_RunDLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\wscui.cpl

Also when I try to open Microsoft Outlook, it prompts me application failed to initialize properly 0xc0000006.

Before that it was fine. Now the sound is heard during the Windows starup - everytime I restart computer.

Any luck? please help. PLZ.

Can you tell me more. An exception is a little vague. What is the message?

Even though it is about another program I think that the following links may help.
