Hi again!

I have a laptop pc that is running so slowly. It's a Sony Vaio PCG-GRT360ZG.

When I first got it last July it loaded so quickly that there wasn't even time to blink, now it crawls along.

It used to take just a few minutes to startup, now it's taking at least 15 minutes each time I startup.

I'm assuming there must be something on there robbing it's resources.

You have all the Sony Media server programs running. (See the O23 entries in your log). THere is a way to turn them off but still leave them available. Check the Sony support for more info. (I have a Sony Desktop, and need to turn them off too!)

Also unless you defrag regularly, you need to do that as well as clean all the temp files and folders.

First:
Download and install the disk cleanup utility called Cleanup!

Cleanup! will get rid of any malware which may be hiding in your temp folders ( a common hiding place). You may also regain a massive amount of disk space.

Run the disk cleanup utility called Cleanup! that you have already downloaded and installed

Check the custom settings to your liking under options, but be sure to delete temporary files and temporary internet files for all user profiles. Also, cleanout the prefetch folder and the recycle bin.

Then reboot into normal mode to let it clean out the remaining files.


Second:
Lets look to see if anything is hiding...

I searched the site and have not been able to find out how to turn off those media services. Have you had any luck on how to do it?

That looks ok, but are you sure that was the entire Silent Runners log? It is usually a little bigger.

Nothing showed up so I can see no adverse reason why your system would be slow.
