Print out these instructions and then close all windows including Internet Explorer.

Then I want you to fix some of those entries. Please do the following:

Please make sure that you can view all hidden files. Instructions on how to do this can be found here:

How to see hidden files in Windows

Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then click the Fix button:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WindowsFY] c:\wp.exe

O9 - Extra button: Microsoft AntiSpyware helper - {C1D42E2A-F2BA-473E-813F-3F096F24A098} - (no file) (HKCU)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Microsoft AntiSpyware helper - {C1D42E2A-F2BA-473E-813F-3F096F24A098} - (no file) (HKCU

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode

Then delete these files or directories (Do not be concerned if they do not exist)

c:\wp.exe
C:\Program Files\Security iGuard\
C:\WINDOWS\System32\wldr.dll
c:\wp.bmp

Reboot your computer to go back to normal mode.

Once you have rebooted download the following reg file to your desktop by right clicking on the link, and selecting save as.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/reg/smitfraud.reg

Once it has downloaded, double-click on the smitfraud.reg file on your desktop and when it asks if you would like to merge the data, click on the Yes button.

Reboot your computer and you should now be able to change your desktop settings back to how you would like it. If your desktop still looks strange, go into your display properties and click on the Themes tab. Change the theme to Windows XP and you will now be using the default Windows XP settings. Then change them as you see fit.

You seem to have re-infected with more than we removed.

Please print out these instructions and then disconnect from the internet until the HiJackThis instructions are completed (First step)

First:
Before we begin, please be sure that HiJackThis is in its own folder. This will allow us to use backups to restore entries if necessary. Please do not put HiJackThis in a temporary folder, or on the Desktop. I suggest using 'C:\Program Files\Hijackthis\' or C:\HiJackThis\, but any name you choose is fine.

Reboot in Safe Mode* and run HiJackThis. <-- IMPORTANT

Check the following items in HijackThis.
(note: If any R* items do not appear in Safe Mode, re-run HiJackThis in Normal Mode and remove them after you finish removing these items.)

Second:
Please download the following Zip archive:
http://www.silentrunners.org/Silent%20Runners.zip

Unzip the archive to your desktop and double click on the VBS file.
(If your AntiVirus alerts, allow the script to run.

Once finished, the script will save a Notepad document to your Desktop.

Copy and paste the contents of that text file in this thread.

First:
Download Killbox from here: http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip
or from here: http://www.atribune.org/downloads/KillBox.exe

Reboot in Safe Mode

This will take a little bit to do so keep track and dont miss any files.

Open Killbox, click the option 'Delete on Reboot'

Select the following list of file name(s) and copy to the clipboard (ctrl-c):

C:\Windows\System32\cmy6kkw4eotd.dll

From the 'File' menu in KillBox, select 'Paste from Clipboard'
Click the red X, to the far right of the Address Bar
Press 'Yes' to the message box that comes up
Press 'Yes' to the next box asking you to reboot.

If your computer does not automatically reboot, then close Killbox and restart your computer.

I want to try the following to see if we can delete the file. If this fails there is another method that will work, but it is more complicated.

Print out these instructions and be sure all open windows are closed. It is critical that you do not use Internet Explorer until your are finished. Download any needed files before you begin and exit IE.

First:
Launch Notepad, and copy/paste the box below into a new text file. Save it as fixme.reg and save it on your Desktop.
CODE
REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\URLSearchHooks]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\URLSearchHooks]
"{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497}"=""

Locate fixme.reg on your Desktop and double-click on it.
You will receive a prompt similar to: "Do you wish to merge the information into the registry?".
Answer 'Yes' and wait for a message to appear similar to "Merged Successfully".

Second:
Download Killbox from here: http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip
or from here: http://www.atribune.org/downloads/KillBox.exe

Open Killbox, click the options 'Standard File Kill' and 'End Explorer While Killing File'

Copy the following file name (and path) to the Address Bar in Killbox:

C:\Windows\System32\op97vrszv5.dll

Click the red X, to the far right of the Address Bar
Windows explorer.exe will quit and your Desktop will disappear
The file will be deleted
Reboot into Normal Mode

Third:
Check the following items in HiJackThis:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {467FAEB2-5F5B-4c81-BAE0-2A4752CA7F4E} - C:\Windows\System32\W8C6S4~1.DLL

O20 - AppInit_DLLs: op97vrszv5.dll

Close all open windows except HiJackThis and press 'Fix Checked'.

Reboot.
Run HiJackThis again and post a new log in this thread.

Last:
Please copy the text in the box below to Notepad and save it to your desktop as reginfo.bat.
CODE
regedit /e reginfo.txt "<*** insert key here**>
start notepad.exe reginfo.txt
exit

Double-click on the reginfo.bat file, and it will run and create a text document on your desktop which will open in Notepad.

Copy and paste the contents of that entire file in this thread.

Hi,
I left my PC turned on whole day, but when I came from work it was on Standby. Probably power failure. That file probably renamed itself (or6h2t6himep.dll
).
Also, Hijackthis again had problems with deletion.
New log is:

Run the hiving batch again and then delete the new file

iyk5mi343b.dll

The other items to remove are as before and per my last post.

Here is the order to use...
Run HiJackTHis and verify that the file name has not changed.
(If changed make an ote of the new name)
Run Hiving Batch
Reboot
Deletet the file (C:\Windows\System32\iyk5mi343b.dll, or new name)
Run HiJackThis, remove the items listed
post new log

Please verify that you did all the steps in that order.

Hi, I was't able to reply on your post beacuse my computer is now infected to the core (Bloodhound.W32.e2). Norton was not able to repair file C:\WIN\SYS32\WINNET.dll.
I'm not able to start IE, and many other programs(The app failed to int. properly (0x0000005), so now I'm replaying from other computer.
I've also recived massage from Norton which is also ****ed up ( A neccesary component is missing or damaged...C:\PF\NORTON\....\DEFALERT.dll)

What should I do? I cannot go to the Internet.
I'll put Log here later (I have lost it on the way).

At this point your system seems hopelessly corrupted. Your best choice is to save whatever dat you can, reformat the hard drive and reload Windows, then your programs.

A poor second choice would be restore your system to a point before the major infections and then clean from there.
miro2005
Sorry,
I forgot to reply. I reinstalled my system. Everything seems good right now.
thanx.
