Today i wanted to do some cleanups on my old laptop. First of all i tried installing some anti virus and anti spyware programs however, the only one that could install was ad aware. It seemed as if the when installed the others the .exe files for them would just get deleted. So i did an online at trend micro and found viruses but it was unable to remove them. I then tried booting into safe mode, but there was a blue screen of death stating that i needed to check for viruses and that i needed to do check my harddrive for errors. I did the disc check but there was nothing.

Lack of Safe Mode is going to make this a little difficult, but we shold b e able to get it done.


First:
1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.

• Click on Avenger.zip to open the file
• Extract avenger.exe to your desktop

2. Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):



Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.

• Under "Script file to execute" choose "Input Script Manually".
• Now click on the Magnifying Glass icon which will open a new window titled "View/edit script"
• Paste the text copied to clipboard into this window by pressing (Ctrl+V).
• Click Done
• Now click on the Green Light to begin execution of the script
• Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.

4. The Avenger will automatically do the following:

• It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Unload", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
• On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
• After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
• The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.

5. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply along with a fresh HJT log by using Add/Reply

Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown.

Reboot in normal mode

Run HiJackThis again and post a new log in this thread.

i still cannot boot into safe mode so i tried the instructions in regular mode. whenever i tried deleting the 4 bho files and scanned again they would still be there. The hklm file listed was not found. There was no ozzaro.exe file in the system32 folder. i could not delete the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\Raymond1\Application Data\m\" it said it was still in use. and there was no hidn folder.

First:
1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.

• Click on Avenger.zip to open the file
• Extract avenger.exe to your desktop

2. Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):



Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.

• Under "Script file to execute" choose "Input Script Manually".
• Now click on the Magnifying Glass icon which will open a new window titled "View/edit script"
• Paste the text copied to clipboard into this window by pressing (Ctrl+V).
• Click Done
• Now click on the Green Light to begin execution of the script
• Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.

4. The Avenger will automatically do the following:

• It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Unload", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
• On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
• After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
• The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.

5. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply along with a fresh HJT log by using Add/Reply


Second:
We need to disable any AntiSpyware protection you have before we go further
Spybot TeaTimer
1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
5) Restart your computer.

Microsoft AntiSpyware

Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Click on Tools, Settings.
In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
Under Startup Options uncheck Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.

Check the following items in HijackThis.

Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked.

Reboot in normal mode

Check to be sure your AntiSpyware programs are all enabled.

Run HiJackThis again and post a new log in this thread.
