Hi, I hate ZA 6 and trashed it as I could not always access the internet and so I am back to sp2 and am now installing a SMC Router and Alpha Shield X2.
I hate all the questions for authorization that firewalls ask, i am not a Noob but not competent to know what is good and what is bad.
So I am working with the above now.
I would appreciate comments.
I also have Norton Professional Systemworks, use the A/V and Ghost, Spysweeper, Trojan Hunter, and Scotty the dog and have had no problems in 5 years with crashes malware etc.
Just wanted comments from experienced users.
I will be doing another post in another forum as I also have a new Toshiba notebook at home and am considering trying a new A/V proggy.
I look forward to replies about thes new hardware pieces that I have, thankyou.

Heya georgie

Sorry for responding sooo late. Saw your topic and musr say that your system is a bit too overloaded with security programs.

When you're running a good (and I mean a really good) router it's up to you to configure the entitled firewall. Once done correct, you don't need any Norton FW or similar programs. Your choice (SMC) is a good one, but make sure that it got delivered with the latest updates.

I saw you're using TH, Spysweeper and Scotty.... well my personal oppinion bout that programs: when using a really good AV scanner which gets auto-updated many times per day is much better than additional programs.

Greetz and sorry for responding now

I have been out on projects since this post, not involving a computer guy_dancin.gif for a change!!
Now I am back and the last post indicated that I should insure that my SMC is uptodate???
How do I do thiss with my SMC 7004VBR Barricade??

I did not realize that they have to be updated as I asked that question when I bought it and was told no nothing had to be checked. That was back in May????

I hope that someone will reply, and yes I did take in the comments re the other proggys that I have and am going to do some more reading and reassessing.

Thankyou
