OhMyGod
Hi dudes,

I believe there are always times when you power-off your PC illegally by cutting off the power supply accidentally or whatever reasons.

I just wana know more abt the implications of such illegal power-offs and what should be done about it, as I believe such actions may lead to serious consequences like hardware probs.

Thx in advance!

I think that it could damage hardware as power still left in the components can no longer be earthed. Maybe storing this power can damage the electrical components.

Maybe you should look into a surge protector. I do not know exactly how they work or even if they may help. Hopefully another member of staff will be along to help answer any questions you may have.

G'day OMG,

You could look into a personal UPS for your system as well. The price for these devices have really fallen a will prevent the problems you describe. As well as protecting your equipment from outages, they also feature the ability to shutdown the equipment through software in the event the outage isn't short term. Hope that helps.

Cheers :)

Thank you very much for your advice on this one Indigo Red. Hardware is not really my field.
