Vunerability tests/scans

These allow you to test for the latest vunerabilities and security holes in software or hardware which could leave you open to attack.
Note: You may recieve a few warnings from your firewall or other intrustion prevention systems when performing these tests.

Pop-up tests sites

You can use these to check if your pop-up blocker is working correctly. These sites also attempt to use some rather intrusive methods to get past your pop-up blocker so you can check that you blocker will block almost every pop-up.Port scanners/firewall tests

These tools allow you to test if your firewall if functioning properly and if specific ports are blocked. If you do not have a firewall I would recommend you vist Firewall Forum and install a recommended firewall and read this topic on firewalls.

Virus, spyware and malware tests

These tools allow you to scan your computer without having to install any programs on your machine. Most of the scanners on this list should remove the viruses and may advise you on the malware on your system.

Outdated versions of Java can make your system vunerable to attack.
