To show hidden files and folders, do the following:

1. Press the start button, (usually located on the bottom left of the screen).
2. Press the run icon and enter control folders. You should then be presented with a screen similar to this:
3. Click the View tab.
4. Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.

5. Press 'OK' then 'Apply'.
