I desired to be able to utilize the encrypted or secureIm feature available thru trillian as well as eliminate the ads and crap that comes with some (AIM) chat clients plus have them managed. Trillian appeared to be a wonderful if not the perfect solution. But I want to be able to audio chat with either or both yahoo and AIM. Like I said either or is fine, both would be wonderful. When I initiate an audio chat it attempt to connect, actual sends the invite, once accepted I get an error.

I can connect and text and I can establish secure IM but I cannot audio. I haven't tried audio via secureim or direct connect, but don't feel like that is the solution anyway i will try immediately upon the return of a buddy to try.

The audio should work. I read, in an old post that trillian didn't support aim audio without video, so i tried yahoo and the same results.

I surf via a vPN tunnel for privacy, but even tried turning it off and removing my firewall (zone alarm).

Have searched the net for hours, no help. Found this board and calamity janes post concerning trillian. She seemed very informative so i registered and have found several usefull posts, kudos to gladiator and Jane.

If you can help I would greatly appreciate it.

sorry dont know how to do a screenshot but it really wouldnot help anyway as there really isn't an error.

Let me explain. Using yahoo from within trillian, when i click on my buddy, I can select audio chat (my buddy cannot since it is inactive for them) they receive the request and agrre but nothing ever happens except for the audio chat button on my end to become inactive for several seconds. after a few seconds the button is available to me again. I could not find anything in yahoo preferences that would allow me to or my buddy to activate their audio chat button.

'error occured while attempting to establish conference' is what I get when I try to use audio via aim. We both have the audio button but that is all that happens when we try to use it.

Had a look in the Trillian Online manual but I couldn't find anything regards on audio chats.

A look in the Trillian discussion forums and a research for audio chat was much more effective but it's up to you to sort out which answer. My impression about that audio chat feature: Trillian offers it, but no one at Cerulan Studios does not tell the clients how. It's up to themself to find solutions.

A promising reply pointed out for a router problem. Have a look at your router settings and here port 5060 in special.
