Zone alarm pro and mcafee antivirus normally are running but had been disabled.
Thank you, hope you can help. I have found some of the other replies difficult to understand!

Hi paul,

Each persons problems and particular operating systems are always different. That's why it's best to post your own log as you have done here :)

Netsearchsoft is the LOP parasite and has random names it uses. That's why it would be hard to follow other replies to find the answer on that one.

Do you have Kazaa installed on your PC? If so, we recommend you uninstall it and can suggest something spyware free if you need a file sharing app.

Meanwhile, please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an x in the boxes next to these items, then press *fix checked*

Thanks for your help.
I followed the instructions, including using safe mode and show hidden files, however I could not find the file C:\Program files\webhance, so that was not deleted, the other file was deleted.
However, as you can see from the Hijackthis log report its back again, including the items fixed in Hijackthis.

I don't know if it is at all linked, but I also have a system32 file that is always open when the computer boots up, I cannot stop it doing it. It did not appear in safe mode.

I don't have Kazaa installed, I've not intentionally used a file sharing app.

I think the netsearchsoft thing appear while using MSN messenger.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the detailed answer. We're still trying to nail down where this version of LOP is coming from.

I think this ought to finish up and get rid of netsearchsoft for good. Using HijackThis only open (leave all other browsers closed) checkmark these items and press *fix checked*

(I'm not sure if you missed these or had a problem getting rid of it in the last run)

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://netsearchsoft.com/passthrough/index...p://about:blank

paulatj247
Thanks again, it seems to be gone!

I couldn't find the folder C:\PROGRA~1\ANTEFI<--delete folder (begins with those letters) to delete, but everything seems to be OK in IE for now, I hope so!

I'm still getting the system32 folder on start up, is this linked at all?
