Hello,

Oops. I now have one problem that I didn't have before. When I went to check my email (Incredimail) pretty much all of my messages were gone, and my address book is also gone. I went to check Outlook Express, and all of my messages started to fill up in Outlook Express. So, I thought I'd test sending a message out from my Outlook Express, but it does not connect. I think it's configured for Incredimail. I tested Incredimail, and yes, it will send out messages, but I'm not sure how to export my address book from Outlook Express ( I tried, but I don't think I'm sending it to the right place). I also had another folder in my 'Inbox"with Incredimai, with message rules, but it is gone too.
One of my daughter's Incredimail no longer works either. It tries to connect with Hotmail, but no luck.
Do you have any idea as to what has happened?
Do you know how I can get my messages sent back to Incredimail, and get my address book restored to Incredimail, and get my daughter's Incredimail to work again. (My other daughter's Incredimail (via Hotmail) still works.

Hope this isn't too confusing :)

Thank you

Hmmm, well, the one infected file was inside the Incredimail programs folder, but that should not have deleted the whole folder, so I'm not sure.

This was the infected file (named in bold):
C:\Documents and Settings\Sonnie\Local Settings\Application Data\IM\Identities\{451DDFBC-51BF-4665-85B1-2BEEAEE280B0}-Message Store\Attachments\NORTBOTS.com <---delete in safe mode.

Look in your recycle bin and see if there are any whole folders in there that maybe look like in this path?

Hi,

My recycle bin is empty :(

When I found that most (but a few) were gone from Incredimail, I opened Outlook Express and then it started filling up with all my messages from Incredimail. So, I tried to export my address back to Incredimail, but it didn't work. Also, I wonder if there is a way to export all of my messages from Outlook Express back into Incredimail? Also, my daughter's Incredimail has also stopped (access through Hotmail), et my other daughter's Incredimail works (through Hotmail).

One last thing. About 2 weeks ago, a popup from Incredimail offered an upgrade, I declined, but since then whenever it loads, it tells me that it could not load one of the skins. When I view Incredimail, my 'Received' column is blacked out. Any ideas?

I wondered if I should copy and save all of our email messages we want to save, and then uninstall Incredimail, and then try to set it up again?

Thanks for your help.

So, they aren't gone they are just being moved over to Outlook express? Puzzling.

I'm not a user of either Outlook or Incredimail so I'm afraid that's out of my expertise...what I will do it split out the posts to a new topic and move it to our email forum where those experts mail be able to help you :)

I am not a big fan of Incredimail..I guess kids love it for all the gimmick and HTML..But if you do HTML email sooner or later you are going to get zapped with a bad boy since your OS has to be hooked into it at the most vulnerable areas of the software.

Q: How do I import emails and contacts (addresses) from my old email program to IncrediMail?

A: With IncrediMail you are able to import emails and contacts from popular email programs such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, and Netscape. Follow these simple instructions:

SEE Here for complete instructions and screen shots

http://www.incredimail.com/english/faq/final2.html

********************************
If your address book is in IncrediMail, you can back up the list of your contacts to make sure they are not only what remains in your memories, but also can be recovered to your address book should you ever lose it.

Saving a copy of your contacts is also a way to keep them when you move to another email client, which will hopefully allow you to import them.

To back up or copy your IncrediMail address book:

Select Tools | Address Book... from the menu.
Select File | Export... from the address book's menu.
Go to the folder where you want to keep the backup copy of your address book.
Optionally, enter a custom file name for the copy.
The standard "IncrediMail Contacts (csv)" should work fine, though.
Click Save.
