Just got internet access and WHAM! I was hit with hundreds of spywares and viruses. I have downloaded all the recommended programs, and still the problem is getting worse. Internet and general computer functions are Slowwwww.....
Dont know what else to do.
Plz help.

Other wierd side effects which had never occurred before are Restriction messages from Windows that wont let me close folders that I have opened, like document folders or Desktop folders, etc. Could this be from a virus??

And, here's the link to McAfee AVERT Stinger and instructions for use.

Be sure and put a check in the box by "Auto Clean" before you do the scan. If it finds anything that it cannot clean have it delete it or make a note of the file location, so you can delete it yourself.

Afterwards post a fresh HijackThis log.

Okay, finally got Panda to fully install, it caught a ton. The install was missing a file yesterday, not sure what that's about. I still cant get Housecall to work... it's giving me an error message (#102?), but I couldnt find any info on the topic. The site wont let me access the FAQ. Again, not sure what that's about.

Either way, Panda cleaned up a lot of viruses, but its still finding 4 that it cant do anything about. Here is the new Hijack Log:

Still have those pesky webspecials running I guess. At startup, I get the error message that they cannot be found.

Run HijackThis, click on "Scan" and check the boxes next to all these items.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WebSpecials] rundll32 "C:\Program Files\WebSpecials\webspec.dll",run
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WebSpecials] rundll32 "C:\Program Files\WebSpecials\webspec.dll",run

Then close all windows, and browsers, except HijackThis. Tell HijackThis to "Fix checked".

Restart your computer in Safe Mode. How do I Safe Boot my computer?

Show hidden files. How do I show hidden files?

Delete the following folders in red (it could be that they are deleted already):

C:\Program Files\WebSpecials

Restart your computer and post a new log in this thread.

Launch Notepad, and copy/paste the box below into a new text file. Save it as Export.bat and save it on your Desktop.



Locate Export.bat on your Desktop and double-click on it. This will create a file on your desktop named Output.txt. Attach this to a new post.
