QUOTE (Chachazz @ Dec 13 2005, 10:34 PM)
ConfigDate 0.3.2
released on December 01, 2005

Configure the 'Date' column and displayed date in message header.

In Thunderbird many people are confused because of the missing date from todays messages in the date column. By using ConfigDate, you're able to choose out of 5 different date formats.

Note:
- The 5 date formats are given by Thunderbird itself.
- The date formats are depending on your systems/regions setting, too (e.g.: "25.08.2005 15:54" in Germany or "2005/08/25 15:54" in US).

For translators it's now possible to translate the description string in extension manager. Nothing else has changed.

Mozilla Calendar
Calendar is the calendar extension for Mozilla products such as Mozilla Firefox,Mozilla Thunderbird, Seamonkey and the Mozilla Application Suite.

Sunbird is the standalone form of the calendar extension, which means that it doesn't need one of the above mentioned applications to run. Sunbird and Calendar use the same base code so their functionality is virtually the same and they share the same bugs and bug fixes. Some features currently depend on the underlying product:

• Open URL works only on Mozilla Firefox., Seamonkey and the Mozilla Application Suite.
• Email alarm works only in Mozilla Thunderbird, Seamonkey and the Mozilla Application Suite.

Saturday, January 14th 2005:

Calendar developer Mostafah Hosseini has released an experimental build of the Calendar extension for Mozilla Firefox 1.5, Mozilla Thunderbird and Seamonkey 1.0 beta.

Please note that this is an experimental build, so it may still contain some bugs.

NestedQuote Remover
Mails that literally bounce between two people often contain nested quotes which usually aren't relevant for further discussion anymore.
Nested quotes simply result from laziness since deleting the previous quote would require manual interaction.

Signature Switch
Tired of removing/inserting your signature manually when composing a mail?

Sometimes you don't want specific recipients to see your signature (which may contain "personal" information).
"Signature Switch" offers removal (and re-insertion) of your signature with just one click of a button.

But that's not all!
In addition to this you can define your own set of signatures and easily choose them via context- or toolbar-menu.
(Randomly chosen signatures from "Fortune Cookie Files" are supported aswell.)

Switching or choosing the signature only affects the currently composed message of course. Your original settings remain untouched.

ReminderFox 0.9.3 for Thunderbird
released on January 22, 2006

ReminderFox is a Firefox extension that displays and manages lists of date-based reminders and ToDo's. ReminderFox does not seek to be a full-fledged calendar system. In fact, the target audience is anybody that simply wants to remember important dates (birthdays, anniversaries, etc) without having to run a fat calendar application.

Version 0.9.3:
-Option for audio notification for alarms and alerts
-Now an explicit preference in the Options dialog to specify the location of the reminder file -- this can be used to share the same reminders between Thunderbird and Firefox, or across multiple profiles, or operating systems
-Sweet new alert slider. Now looks like the tooltip (can span multiple lines) and you can click on it to bring up the Edit Reminders dialog

Minor improvements:

-Significant performance improvements in the Edit Reminder dialog
-Better synchronization between Firefox and Thunderbird
-New localizations - Slovak [thanks to Slovaksoft], Chinese (zh-CN, zh-TW)

Bug fixes:
-12826 - Tooltip wouldn't show if you disabled status-bar
-12691 - Reminders marked as Remind Until Completed with a date of last year would not show up in the Edit Reminder List
-12710 - Reminder ics file could not properly be shared between certain OS's
-Toggling Show Alert on status context menu did not disable alerts

This is an extension for the Mozilla Thunderbird mail program that reports, when possible, whether the sender shown in the From: header was actually the sender of the email. In fact, forging the From: header is possible! This is intended to be a tool to identify phishing, fradulent emails asking for your sensitive data, and zombie-spread viruses claiming to be from someone they are not. The extension uses Sender Policy Framework (SPF) (in a nonstandard way), DomainKeys (DK), and various phishing databases through SURBL.

"Lightning 0.7 is the latest release of our calendar extension for Mozilla Thunderbird®. We recommend that all users upgrade to this latest version."

What's New in Lightning 0.7
  • It is now much easier to switch between the mail and calendar parts of Thunderbird thanks to a user interface redesign.
  • A redesigned event/task dialog has been enabled to gather feedback from the community. It offers a much cleaner user interface and additional functionality including:
o Events/Tasks can be created in different timezones
o Attendees can be added from a local or corporate LDAP directory.
o Free-Busy information is available for users of the Sun Java Calendar Server.
o Integrated display of recurrence patterns, reminders and attendees

Lightning Calendar 0.8 for Thunderbird®
Release Date: April 04, 2008

The following features have been added to Lightning 0.8:
  • Lightning 0.8 introduces a task mode (Screenshot) that contains the following features
o Quick display of current tasks
o Task preview pane displaying task parameters like the description, from date, due date, category, etc
o Possibility to filter displayed tasks (today's tasks, overdue tasks, completed tasks, etc.)
  • New icon set and reworked menu structure that only offers the user those options that are currently available to him in calendar or task mode
  • Lightning now contains an event list (also known as "unifinder"), which allows the easy selection and sorting of current, future and past events. The unifinder can be easily enabled or disabled by using the "Find events" button on the Calendar toolbar
  • Category colors are now shown next to an event box, giving users a much better overview of their differently categorized events
  • Events with alarms now have a visual indicator showing an alarm bell
  • A totally overhauled alarm dialog
  • Easy conversion of mails, events and tasks into each other. The mode toolbar icons on the left side now function as drop targets, which allows you to convert an e-mail to an event or tasks (or vice versa), just by dragging an e-mail to the calendar icon on the left
  • Visual overhaul for the today pane
  • Lightning now recognizes the timezone definitions in .ics files created by other applications. This fixes the longstanding issue of Lightning miscalculating the date or time of events contained in those files
  • The timezone guessing has been significantly improved
  • Lightning now contains experimental support for viewing remote calendars offline. This feature has known bugs and is included for testing purposes only
  • Lightning contains several performance fixes, which should improve working with larger calendar files
  • You can now define for each of your calendars, whether you want to be notified of alarms for events in these calendars or not
  • Special builds with support for Sun Java Calendar Server (lightning-WCAP) are no longer available as the base extension package now contains all the necessary code
  • Thunderbird 1.5.0.x builds are no longer supported. Users of Thunderbird 1.5.0.x are strongly encouraged to update to Thunderbird 2. Please use the "Check for Updates..." option in the help menu to get the update

" In this release, I’ve fixed some bugs, plus added support for some new sound formats. If your operating system will launch a .mp3 file in a local player, you can now ask it to do that as part of the filter action. I also support .ogg files using Mozilla’s standard Ogg Vorbis player, though my experience has been that this not reliable enough yet for real usage, at least on Windows XP.

You can download this from AMO, see a detailed description of ToneQuilla here, or see details of changes in this revision from the releases page.

I’ve also now submitted this for official review by the folks at AMO, so hopefully after a month this will be able to leave the experimental sandbox, and things like automatic updates should also work.

Make sure that you make a filter to play “We Are in Love” for the emails that you receive from your significant other!...rkent"
