It is the fastest non-indexing search program. As compared to most other programs which use a search index, Snowbird, which does not index files, takes only around 30 seconds for the first search. Subsequent searches are even faster - 5 seconds or lesser.
Since Snowbird does not index files, you are sure to get the latest results from your hard disk, and not results that were cached the previous time the index was updated. This also saves you lots of disk space that would otherwise be used for storing the search index.
