Opera on USB
More information - installation guid
Here we show you how to install Opera on a USB pen drive in a very easy way.
It will allow you to become independent of a local installation, and you can use your individually customized Opera browser anytime, anywhere. This installation guide is valid for all Windows Operating systems.
(This installation guide is different from the one found on Opera-USB.com).
Briefing
Download the newest Opera version and install it onto your USB stick. Alternatively, copy your Opera main directory (from your desktop version) onto your USB pen drive. If possible delete all directories and files not needed anymore from the pen drive.
Copy the additional files (see below) to the corresponding directories.
Copy your user files to the corresponding directories..
Features
• Start Opera from your USB pen drive simply using Opera.exe (No tricky setup of a batch file needed).
• Use your individually customized Opera browser (mail, newsgroups, feeds ¹) anytime, anywhere.
• You can transfer this version to any Desktop computer.
• You can copy or move the complete Opera directory without any problems.
Difference
All your user and configuration files, except your opera6.ini, are stored in the opera main directory and not in the profile directory (I don't think that this is a handicap).
¹ Note
There may be some problems if you want to use e-mail and newsgroups, and so I recommend to use the version found on Opera-USB.com if you want to use e-mail and newsgroups. If you want to use Opera for USB as a 'browser and chat only' version, there is no problem and this version is easier to use.
