Is it a bad thing to have all lightweight scanners? And what is really the main difference or advantage of a leightweight scanner, apart from using less system resources?

Hi Connor
First what kind of scanners are you talking? AV scanner, AT-, AS- or all kind of malware scanners? IMHO lightweight scanners are perfect in case of older computers, less powered PCs. Owners which can't afford lot of money for security software but wanting their computer safe will find lot of great programs.
The difference between "Lightweights" and "Heavyweights" are special features which are giving an extra plus of security but demanding more system ressources very often. Each computer owner has to decide if she/he wants the maximum security for her/his computer or if a lightweight works fine for her/him.

AV scanners. Will leightwieghts not carry as many definitions or do as good clean up? N that reminds me i have no AT scanner. Do i really need one? I thought my AV would do the job ?
