Importing Objects in Bryce

It is easy to import an object in Bryce whether it is a .3ds, .dxf, .lwo, .cob
or .obj file and so on....Here's one way of doing this....

Get Started!

1. Go to the Menu > File > Import Object
... you simply click on "Import object" and go retrieve the object you want to import
from your computer. Once you see it, just click on it to open it in your workplace
and there you go, your object is now appearing in your scene!

Too big?

2. If you find that your object is too big and maybe so big that you cannot even
grab a corner to reduce it, you can select it (it will be become red) and then
click on the little "A" at the right corner of your object to edit its attributes.
Once the Object Attributes window opens, simply reduce its proportion in the x, y, z boxes (next to size)
You can also go back to re-adjust the proportions whenever needed.

Another way of re-adjusting the size is by changing the camera position to top
view, your object will be showing much smaller from that view. Select it
and grab one of its corner to reduce the size. When you're done, go back to the view
you where before.

Increase the light!

Also, it often happens that the object has too much shadow on it or doesn't receive enough light.
To correct this, simply add a light.

3. Go to the Tools Menu and click on the first yellow circle starting from the left.
A yellow ball will appear in your workplace. Render to see if your object is lighted properly,
if not, go back to your workplace, select the light and move it or resizeit until
you are satisfied with the results. You can also add a second light if you wish!

here's the result:

Hey thanks!

Odidio is right, just go to the link he gave you and you will be able to retrieve many free objects
from various websites. Another website that is great to get all kinds of materials & objects
for Bryce is Renderosity. I do not think that you have to register to download objects from there.
You will find objects for Bryce, Daz, Poser, Cinema4D, Max3D and many more.

...I will prepare another tutorial soon. honeybee.gif
