these are just a few tips that might help to get the new user started!

1.The Menu

Can't find the menu in Bryce?

If you open Bryce for the first time, you might feel a bit taken aback because the Menu is not showing.
To be able to see it, Just hover your mouse over the upper area of the program window and you will see it appear!

2.Image Size

The bigger the size of your image, the longer it will take to render. Try not to exceed 500 pixels square.
Once you are satisfied with your image, you can go to the document setup (File > Document Setup),
make it bigger and render again! No quality will be loss!

3.Resizing Objects

if you have problem resizing an object with the mouse because the object is too big,
just change the camera view and choose "from Top" and then resize it by selecting and dragging your object.

4.The View

Not satisfied with the image you just created ? Try a different view
and see if you can get a better result from a different angle.
see screenshot in paragraph 3. Also, try moving one or two elements in
your scene to see if it helps.

5.The Light

Sometimes, when applying a dark sky or even a medium shaded sky, objects in our scene
can become real dark. To solve this, you can add up a light (or even more than one!) in
your scene. Go to the tools menu and click on the first yellow ball (which is the radial light),
then you will see a yellow ball appears in your scene, just move it to the area you want to apply the light.
If you notice that there isn't enough light, just duplicate it (Ctrl+D) as many time as you wish
to get the right amount of light.

6.Transferring Objects to a Different Scene

If you are done with your picture and would like to see one object in a different scene,
just select it and do Ctrl+C to copy it, open a new scene and do Ctrl+V to paste the object in your new scene.
You can also select several objects by keeping pressing the left button and draw a rectangle or maquee
around them with the mouse so that all the objects in the rectangle will become red and selected. So
again you do Ctrl+C (copy) then you open a new scene...and finally do Ctrl+V to paste your objects in your new scene!

7.Rendering

When creating a new scene check that the render options are set back to standard.
Otherwise you might start to wonder why Bryce is suddenly so slow...

Excellent Uguel - thank you. That mystery menu!

Your welcome Chachazz!

yes, the menu can be real tricky for those who are beginning with Bryce.
Before writing these instructions, I read a comment (on another forum) by a guy saying
that it took him 2 hours only to find the Menu! After reading that, I decided
to mention about it in my post!

Good advice Uguel.

There was also something I learned right from the start to set the size of the interface.

Click on the small button on the far right menu to get the large size interface.

To keep this size go to Edit > Preferences and click on the 'launch to previous state' button.

This way the each time you open Bryce the interface will stay in the large sized format.

:)

Good tip Odidio! I will set it this way too. Oh and also, you can also magnify your scene
or a part of it by using the + key from your Numeric Keyboard.
