I am working with online institute, the developer team has got different applications which are based on the following technologies:
All are web based applications
Build either on .NET framework 1.1 or .NET Framework 2.0
SQL server as a database at the backend
None of them are active directory enabled.
What security issue i have to take in consideration
Web based applications are using JAVA and/or JAVA Script. You have to make sure that your JAVA engine is up-2-date. Your webbrowser should be safe when using that program language like Firefox, Opera or Seamonkey.
There are lot of discussions about Dot Net Framework applications at the web where you can make up your own mind:
About .NET SecurityAn Overview of Security in the .NET FrameworkSQL server.... does it run on Linux/UNIX or MS SQL server?
