Hello from a newbee. What is the best anti-spyware program? I currently use Spybot and Adware. I recently downloaded a trial of XoftSpySE. After a scan it shows 48 odd spyware alerts that Spybot or Adware don't find. Is this for real or a have to prompt you into buying the program. I recently read on the net about a program called SpyZooka. The actually give a 100% guarantee to find and dig out ALL spyware, viruses and keyloggers. If this is the case I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. Any thoughts or dvice??? Cheers.

XSoftSpySE was recently removed from the
Rogue Antispyware list. I Would recommend its removal. SpyZooka was also recently delisted and I would highly recommend you remove it also.
To answer your main question. There is no best anti spyware. You need a combination of programs rather than a single one to catch all everything. Our Anti-spyware and Privacy forum is located here:
http://gladiator-antivirus.com/forum/index.php?showforum=147 No one program can %100 gaurentee to get every peice of spyware.

Hi Radguy
welcome at GSF Forums. Well I doubt that there'll be a program avaiable which will and can guarantee finding 100% of all (!!!!) spyware.
Look that would mean that the developers of that product are the "Kings" compared with welknown and famous vendors of Ati Maleware products.
You will fine more details about that special kind of software at
AntiSpyware & Privacy Programs in here

Thanks for that. Another question. What is the best firewall program to use. If you are using Windows Defender do you have to turn it off to use something like Zone Alarm. Not sure if they would clash. Cheers.

I dont think that windows defender will interfere with Zone alarm. You can have a look at the results of our firewall software poll here:
http://gladiator-antivirus.com/forum/index...mp;#entry168828The top free firewalls in the market today, in my opinion, are Outpost, Zonealarm, Kerio and Jetico. So it would be a good idea to choose between those. Personally I use Zonealarm.

Hello Radguy, hello all! I'm a newbie on this forum. I think that the answer depends on the what exactly you mean "The best anti-spyware"? I mean if you want a free program which can garantee the safety in register you can use Arovax Shield which is absolutely free. Actually it is HIPS(Host Intrusion Prevention System). You can manually manupulate your files with its help. Also Spyware Terminator is free of charge. In this case no one spyware, adware, malware cannot get into your register/PC until you let it in on your own wish. :-) If we're talking about paid anti-spyware I think its better to use Norton Antivirus, which contains anti-spyware, anti-malware, etc. build-in features and additional opportunities. But anyway we cannnot say that one of them is better than another. Each of them has its personal functionality. That's why we always have a choice. And I think it's ok! :)
Of cause smb disagree! But it's just my opinion! :)
Best regards,
Karry!

Yes I have tried it but not what I was looking for. It's more a scanner I'm looking for. I run Ad-Aware & spybot but I feel it is not finding everything. I downloaded a trial version of Spyware Doctor and after a scan it showed I had 20 odd infections including a Trojan.Pake (what ever that is) amongst other things. Is this just the program making up these things in order to get me to buy it or are they really there. I have read articles on this program and it rates highly. The thing that scares me is these parasites it finds do not show up in Ad-Aware or SpyBot. Cheers.

Yes, you did not follow the guidlines, but on this occasion the expert working with you does not mind you using Trend Micro v2 beta. I suppose it is the personal choice of each expert.
