Hello and thankyou for my regestration.

I have just started using Bryce 4.
I apologise in advance for my newbie question.

My project is to create the inside of a blood artery.
Is it the case that I need to turn off the sky and terrain so to have
a "blank canvas" so to speak?
If so how do I do this?

Many thanks in advance for any replies/advice.

Regards nano.

Welcome nano,

I would first suggest you upgrade Bryce 3D to version 5.5. This is currently available for "free", you just need to register at Daz3D for a serial number.

Daz registration? (to get a serial number for version 5.5)

Download info (of Bryce 5.5) can be found here

Stem : Thankyou so much, intsalled 5.5, didnt realise it was for free.

Version 4 had no manual hence my question.
I will read the 5.5 manual for help.

Again, many thanks Stem for your time.
Nice forum.

Hello nano,

Now to answer your questions. To remove the ground, left click the ground "Plane" and just press the "Delete" key:

For the sky, you will need to enter the "Sky lab". This you will find by first selecting (at the top) Sky & Fog, then left click the cloud (which then opens the sky lab)

Once the sky lab is open:-

Just go through each tab (sun & moon/ cloud cover etc) and deselect all options, this will then leave you with a plain background.

Edit : There are 2 ways of doing this.
either like Stem showed you here or like this.....

Ok, here's what you can do.....

1. You delete the ground plane and just press the "Delete" key as Stem instructed in his post.

2. You go to the Sky Edit options and click on the little arrow.

3. A window will open with several sky options, choose backdrops.

Now from there, you can choose any colour you want for the backdrops.
....this will make the sky or any celestial atmosphere go away. Notice that
you never get a complete transparent background, you always need to choose
a backdrop colour.

Hi Uguel,
We crossed posts. You should not of edit out your post. You posted about using one of the sky "presets". I did forget about these. This is easier than changing all settings as I posted.

I finally put it back but edited it a wee bit! honeybee.gif

Hi Uguel,
I think that using a plain backdrop will be better for this. (I forget about the presets at times tease.gif )

Hi Stem,

I think too. But it is always good to know about other possibilities too.
So everything's ok! ciao.gif

Hello Stem,

Thanks for explaining, easy when you know how.

Hello Uguel,

Tried the Sky & Fog arrow but it only gave me the selection of clouds,
not sure if this version does that.

Thankyou both for your time and advice.

Regards,

Hello nano,

The screenshot by "Uguel" for the sky & fog presets is from version 6, this version is just more organised by placing the presets into groups. If you click the "little arrow" next to the sky & fog (as shown by "Uguel"), ..... bring up the presets, then scroll down, at the bottom of the presets you will find the "plain" backdrops:-
