Here are a few of my attempts at creating rocks.
......Please do not hesitate sending yours. friends.gif
N.B. the 2 rocks at the right were bought at DAZ whereas the ones at the left were
some of my experiments I made...........

Uguel
Here's one of my own I made tonight.
I made the drawing in Photoshop and then I added 2 opposite lights in the scenes......
A blue one to the left and an orange to the right.

They look cool.

Do you still have the drawing you made in Photoshop ?
I'd like to see how you made it.

Certainly, here it is.... hello.gif

it looks like J.K. Rowling's sorting hat LOL

Usually, I have bigger drawings than that but I wanted to experiment with a smaller one and it worked all the same.
...start with a lattice, click on "image" import your image and then use the clipper, then you can lower it a bit also
with the lower button until the rock becomes about 1 .cm or say, 1/3 of an inch and then and add noise with
the noise button if you desire.
Uguel
here's the basic drawing of the bigger rock reduced to 50% approx.
It is also made with a lattice.

Thanks Uguel, it's helpful to have a look.

Lets see if you recognize this one, LOL.
It looks a little shabby, out there by itself, but that's the way it is in real life.

......Wow!!! You did a great job Odidio.

Lets see if you recognize this one, LOL.
......you must be kidding, ask a horse if he knows about oats! ROTFL

this is the Rocher Percé from Percé, Gaspésie.
I went there 3 times in my life and we even walk through the rock hole at low tide. This is VERY GOOD!!!
The rock, the sky, everything looks natural...all the way it should be.

.......only if you want, I'd be very interested to get the file to put the rocks in one of my landscape.
I did make a research on 3d objects based on the Quebec's scenery. I found only one that has the rocher Percé
and a moose. They were presented as 3d objects but once imported in the scene, they were only 2d discs.
Most people in Quebec aren't big on the internet, they prefer the outdoors better so that is why you won't find much
good stuff from there on the web.

Thanks Uguel, and you are right, it's Rocher Percé in Quebec. I didn't think you would have a hard time guessing that one!! ha ha

I visited the area a few times too, but I was much younger then and lived closer to it............. :derisive:

Unfortunately I didn't save the scene, just the image. I do have the b&w bitmap I used for the lattice though, it was a picture of Percé that I changed to gray-scale and then used the gamma correct (+) in Photofiltre to make the rock much brighter. I did a little editing in Bryce to make the hole look a little better.

I was sure that you did visit the area too, it's quite popular as a tourism resort.

Unfortunately I didn't save the scene, just the image.

...too bad!!! crying.gif

.....well, maybe I'll be ok with it. I like this scene a lot it, brings back many memories...well,
I'll certainly give a try at it . Thanks for the image and the tips. I guess I'll be fine.
