OK, thanks, I have installed 5.5 so I can post screen shots to help.

There are many option to create sky`s. So lets start with a preset and work from there.

Open Bryce: Select Sky&Fog (on the top menu), then click the little triangle next to this,

This will bring up the sky presets. There are quite a few that you can chose from as a starting image.

Once you have a preset that is close to what you want, we can then edit this.
To reposition the sun: Hold down the "Ctrl" and "Alt" keys (keep these held down) then double left click on the sun control (number 1), then, while still holding down the "Ctrl" and "Alt" keys, left click on the screen where you want the sun to be (Number 2). As long as you hold down the Ctrl and alt, you can click on the screen until you get the sun in the posistion you want.

From this quick edit, the result is not too bad

You can edit the sky color from the top menu (top left edit window), just left click (and hold the mouse button down) will bring up a color swatch,.. there are 3 colors you can change.

There is an option to change the Frequency/Amplitude of the cloud on the top menu (see pic), just left click in that window (hold down), then move the mouse left/right up/down.
Here I have just changed the colors and the Frequency/Amplitude of the preset.

The other small images on this top menu allow other editing to be made, such as "Ambient color", "Fog", Haze", "Cloud hight" etc. Just move your mouse over the image, and if you look bottom left, it will show what option you have, you can then left click (hold) and move the mouse to change the setting.

I have to go for now (work), but will post more info later.

Hello envision,
Sorry for my delay in reply, (I need 40 hours in a day)

You are welcome. What I have shown is only the basics of what is possible. If you check out some of the threads you will find links to some good tutorials.

To create an image as you have posted can be done via the options I have shown, but the settings would need to be exact. So for me to post such settings would defeat your own project (an image created by you?)

I was going to post the options for the "Sky lab", but tutorials can be found (and links on forum) for this.

I would ask, can 3rd party programs be used, such as a paint program? I ask, as a defined image could be first made, then added to a sky plain (layers if needed). We could also look at adding objects with volume which give very good output.

I am more than happy to help you, but with respect, I will not do the project for you.

I will ask other members to contribute/ make comment. (most here on the bryce forum are better artists than myself)

Hello envision.

Some great info stem.

It will be a matter of playing with the controls to get your desired effect envision.

There are free sky presets out there too, you might find something closer to what you are looking for.

Yes, there are many settings that can be adjusted,

I could not find a good tutorial for the sky lab, so I have just been playing with the settings for the default sky (in the sky lab) in Bryce 5.5. This is the image I have come up with after about 10 minutes:-

@envision
Is this somthing like what you want?

I am currently having some problems with imageshack, I think they are having problems with their servers (connections being reset when trying to upload an image). So I will try to post screenshots of the Sky lab settings (if wanted) later.

Well done Stem!
@Envision, I checked what I had and this is only what I found.
....if you are interested to get the configuration, just let me know.

I found a good flash tutorial for clouds. He has the clouds coming straight at you instead of what you want but you can choose different x, y and z parameters and experiment to hopefully get something close to what you are looking for.
