Hello friends !!!

i m very frustrated from this problem !!!!

i m using P3, intel 810e motherboard, intel 82801AA usb(onboard).
Now when ever i m connect Motorola SURFBoard SB5101 external modem with my pc nad after configuring IP , the proble starting from that moment.

It frequently( within 1 min its 2-3 times) shows that your device is unplugged or removed sunsafely. and after that message it does not function properly and PC activity light stops to blink in modem.

in device manager it shows YELLOW ( ! ) and in detail it shows that code 10 error this device can not start.

i have tried to install modem with latest driver by getting from motorola's website. Here another USB devices working properly, like USB flash drive, Mobiles.

Modem has assigned IRQ 11 and it is shared with AC97 audio.

modem is working fine in other computer even old computer with USB 1.1 .

i m using windows 2000 with SP4
m using external Modem and it has separate power supply

modem is directly plugged with the Main board !!

Main board hase 2 USB ports and i have tried in both.

Also i have tried to assign IRQ to modem but still the problem persists

Plz !!! suggest me the proper solution.

Hi

Do you have the SURFboard Cable Modem CD-ROM.?

Might look here for some help:

http://broadband.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/broa...;p_new_search=1

http://broadband.motorola.com/consumers/pr...B5101_UG_EN.pdf

Drivers:

http://broadband.motorola.com/consumers/su...ion=CableModems

Might have to reload the drivers again with nothing hooked to the USB ports,Restart computer then hook cable modem to it.

If the other devices such as USB drives are working when hooked to the same USB ports as the Modem then it sounds like a driver problem or TCP/IP problem..

This is just a start as Udo might have some more ideas for you to look into so wait and see what he has to say..

Best
