Hi All ,
What is the solution to protect a word document from being copied from the place where you want to install it , a hard drive of a certain computer or a floppy ,it means that the persons can access, read but cant copy its contents nor the whole document sheet itself. Better to say you can select a paragraph or all but copying when you right click isnt allowed neither when you right click the whole document .
Also even after opening that file , he shall not be able to print a copy of it .
Sometimes you need to handle a file on a floppy or to install it on the computer of someone enabling him just to read but not to steal your work.
Any solution, soft or trick ?
Thank you very much for your support

Heya hankach
phew, thats tricky to answer directely. Can you tell me which Word-release you wanna go for such a protection? I am sure there are differences between all Word-releases being launched.

One of the only solutions I can think of is a protected pdf document. As a pdf document is technically generated as an image you cannot select paragraphs and copy and paste. There are also options in certain pdf creation programs to add protecting features, such as password protection. If you are using a portable device you can set access writes on the files and there is probably some program to set writes on the portable device itself.
However if the user can read the file then they can most probably make a copy of it in one form or another. For example screen shots.

Indeed there're freeware tools creating PDFs and "encrypting" them with a strong password (means usual caharkters plus special characters)
+ FreePDF (http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/urltrurl?lp=de_en&url=http%3A%2F%2Fshbox.de) which I use for years now
+ jPdf Tweak (http://jpdftweak.sourceforge.net/)
+ PDFCreator GPL (https://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/)
Note:
Please read the instructions for each program carefully. There are striktly recommended installation procedures which need to be kept ;)
