Full Version: Hi All! Photo editor or imaging software?
Gladiator Security Forum > Computer Software & Hardware > Graphics Software
CalamityJane
On a mission for someone else who would like to be able to insert shapes into images. I thought maybe the graphics gurus over here might be able to suggest something?

I'm looking for some (hopefully free) photo imaging software than can insert a nice neat arrow like you see in this pic.

I made that arrow in the screenshot using a photo imaging software that is no longer available (and wasn't free).

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thank you Chachazz

I knew you would come through! yourock.gif

And that is adware/spyware free? Safe for a novice user?

Guaranteed clean (& Canadian) hello.gif ; very popular graphics softs; see their site -
http://faststone.org/index.htm

unfortunately, the Capture tool went shareware so new versions cost.

Version 5.3 has more than one could wish for.

"Draw" (icon) is where these little editing items reside. Explore all the features.

This is a terrific little tool, CJ.

Cheers!

Somebody replied to the post you made. I downloaded the software, tried it and I think I am beginning to like it.

Thank you so much for the help.

First, Thank you for the question. I have looked around for such a simple way to capture/add arrow etc (for support issues), obviously I have not looked (or should I say "not asked") in the right places.

This application is just what I need/want.

When in the "draw" to actually create the "arrow":-
You will see such as (when you have made the arrow):-

If you move your cursor over the arrow, you will see the cursor change to:-

This will allow you to move the arrow.

Now if you move your cursor to the "black dots" at the end of the arrow, you will get a cursor of:-

This will allow you to resize/rotate the arrow. Click on one end will allow resize from there, also allow to rotate (around the other end point)

I do like this very much (I did use a capture~ then an old photoshop I have, I will now use this).
