I'm trying to install/use the Secunia PSI program and when I try to run it I get the following error message:

"Unable to retrieve PSI User ID from Secunia"

I'm running XP Pro, SP2. The only firewall on my system is Windows Firewall. I'm the system Administrator. Please help.

Thank you.

Thanks Chachazz for the response. I satisfy all of the requirements but I don't see anyplace on the Secunia where I can register?

Regards Secunia PSI registering. It parts of the install program. As you are installing Secunia PSI you will come to a page like Chachazz shows in their post. Just fill in the User Name and Organization.

For Organization I use: Home

After that should be good to go unless you have other problems like I did where I received an error during install crying.gif

Thanks Terryala for the response. I uninstalled/reinstalled Secunia PSI, filled in the User Name & Organization and am still getting "Unable to retrieve PSI User ID from Secunia" when I try to run it. I'm totally confused.

Hi

Don't feel bad as I had a wild type error when I tried to install also. Their FAQ section doesn't cover our problems from what I see reading thru it..

Might want to try their support:

"We're looking forward to the future development of the Secunia PSI, please keep sending your good ideas and feedback for the Secunia PSI at (support@secunia.com ).

http://secunia.com/contact_secunia/?menu=info

Might try this first;

http://secunia.com/software_inspector/

On the right side of page there is an address to send FeedBack under OTHER..

Best

Grand Dad

PS: Thats the best I could find right now.

FAQ
How can I suggest a feature or report an error in the Secunia PSI?

For all feature requests or error inquiries, please submit all suggestions to support@secunia.com, or click on the "Tell us what you think" task in the Secunia PSI to submit your suggestion via online form. In addition, for error inquiries, please send all relevant details (including screenshots, whenever possible) to support@secunia.com.

Please take note that due to the large volume of emails, you will likely not receive a response. However, all suggested features are tracked, and those that are accepted will be reflected on subsequent versions of the Secunia PSI.

lvsunz, sounds like something on your machine is blocking PSI from reaching the Secunia Server - Firewall? HIPS? ...... Are you installing it as Administrator?
