My apologies if this is posted in the wrong section.

Ok, as of today i've had this weird issue were google.com. It does not want to load in my firefox browser (it says it timed out). Also, sites that depend on google referers like google.analytics.com or google.synication.com (or something close to that) at the bar at the bottom, tend to load VERY slowly. Another thing that is weird, is I can go to http://video.google.com which is google's google video, with no problem. Well anyway I was just wondering if someone could be so kind to help me out. This is very annoying since ALOT of the sites i go to depend on a google variant and I also use google as my homepage and use it for alot of searching. I have scanned my computer of spyware and viruses and cleaned everything. I have also deleted the cookies, cleared cache, and cleared authenticated sessions. Hope someone can help! Thanks

Make sure if you are going to google with a link in your favorites or your home page that is actually going to only www.google.com and not one that has other things in the URL

for instance if you click on the link below..does it take you to google or does it time out also.

I'm using google as my homepage and one day it just didn't want to load anymore (keeps timing out). Both google.com and the google extension page you gave me did not load. But the techimo.com page is loading, but is taking forever (worse than dial-up). With my cable connection, it shouldn't be this slow. When I was watching the techimo.com page load, I noticed that at the bottom of the page it showed "pagead.googlesyndication.com" Again, showing that its a google-related page. But as i was browsing the web i noticed that its not just google.com and google variants, but its other pages as well. For example: http://www.airsoftgi.com and http://www.militaryphotos.net ; Both of these pages do not work along with google.com. I scanned with spybot and avg free, which came back with nothing, I'm going to try adaware right now and I'll get back to you. In the mean time, got anymore ideas? Again I appreciate your time and efforts.

*Side Note: I also have tried using Internet Explorer 7 and it gives me the same results as my firefox. Also, the page doesn't timeout immediately, it seems like the browser tries to load the page, then finally after a while it the timeout page shows up.

I think then your browser have been hijacked..maybe even with HOSTS file changes so we would like your to follow these instructions..

EW.. I hope not lol. I checked my hosts file and it APPEARS to be ok. All it says is "127.0.0.1 localhost". Ive read the instructions and I will now post in the other forum section. Thanks for your help!
