Full Version: Installed DW v2_30

[size=5]I finally stumbled onto installing DW v 2_30 by opening the email rather than saving it to computer
and then browsing for the registration key file and inserting it into the registration window.

Some questions: Why is the registration key file a dw file? Pareto Logic states that a dw file is a Trojan.
Kaspersky Lab Internet Security keeps challenging the transmissions of DW to the Internet.
When Kaspersky reports that hidden data is being sent, what kind of data is it?
kiaspersky also states: Running process (PID: 1160).

Am I supposed to place DW in Kaspersky's Trusted Zone to avoid the constant clicking of "Allow"?

Appreciate any help.

1. Registration file has .dwu extension in order to be different from other files extensions.
2. I don't care about Pareto Logic's false positive, it is not my problem.
3. KIS flags this transmission because it is not really written right way- DW changes browser's title bar in order to show you untrusted status, it is harmful.
4. Yes, trusted zone is the right choice.

Thanks for the qucik response, Ilya. I hope you consider including a guide to installing and registering DW in this forum. I'm assuming few of your
subscribers have had the install/register problems I have had, recently and with the original purchase a year ago, and since most PC users I iknow
don't even know what a HIPS program is, I suspect that your customers are sophisticated in the area of Internet security products.

Thanks for the help. I think your product would be good to purchase and install when my friend gets her computer because we'll need something that
unlike Sandboxie will keep her browser permanently in the untrusted zone. If you would just create a step-by-step install/register procedure, as I
suggested above, I would be happy to recommend your product to friends.

One question about the DW system tray icon (DW v. 2.30. Is it supposed to be red when DW is active? Right now it is gray with a little red circle.
The title bar reflects that I am running Win I.E. (Defense Wall Status: Untrusted). I ask because with DW v 1.74 the tray icon became red when
DW was active, or at least that's what I believed.

Hello Steve744,

If you would like DW v2.30's system tray icon to turn red when an untrusted application(ex. - IE) is open, you can enable this feature by opening DW's GUI, clicking upon the "Advanced" tab>clicking upon the "Options" button>putting a check beside "Alarm notifications via tray icon". Do not forget to press the "OK" and "Apply" buttons to make this change permanent. Also, you might be interested in my DW configuration settings which can be found in the link below. Hope this helps.

I have switched off potential dangerous activity notification via tray icon and made it optional. You can turn it on and off now. It is off by default.
